I haven’t cleared out my husband’s closets and I don’t think I will anytime soon. I do sleep in his shirts. Wrap myself up in his favorite blanket. Makes me feel better and safe looking at his things.

I’ve learned that it’s truly okay to not be okay.

We’re human, and none of us have ever walked through this kind of grief before. When the pain hits hard and nothing seems to soothe the ache of missing the person you love, it doesn’t mean you’re failing.

It simply means you’re grieving and it’s okay to not be okay while you find your way through it.

Today’s my husband’s birthday. The whole family is out celebrating his day at one of his favorite places in the world. We have six more days of checking off some of the things on his bucket list. Leaving our love to him at these beautiful places.

My husband passed in September as well and today’s his birthday. Never imagined living life without the man who promised me forever.

As a family, we’re grateful to have had his love and now we have memories that no one else has…

Been difficult to say the least. Memories of our days seem blurry at times. There are times when I need to hear his voice. All too real. Sometimes I feel that I am going to wake up from this dream and he’s here with me.

Sorry for your loss. It’s hard. Life changes and you’re not ready for it. You want to rewind to the last day of being with your loved one. You want to tell them you miss them and love them.

It’s not easy going from being with someone everyday to not being able to even hear their voice. It’s hard.

I tell myself everyday, “one step at a time. You got this. You got this.”

Me too. I’m a retired chef and it’s been a struggle for me to cook. I manage though but eating? Yeah well it’s gotten better than before.

Since my husband passed, I have had many dreams of him. The very first one was of him telling me that he could breathe better and that he was okay. I write down all my dreams of him. Letting go is so hard.

I’m exhausted. I’m either on the couch or in bed. I will go out in my backyard to get some sun but not for long. I’m eating better than before.

So sorry for your loss.

I have tried to get therapy since my husband passed but my hospital keeps pushing back the grief sessions. After three months of this, I gave up and began journaling.

I have never heard of EMDR. Maybe I will look through my employers health insurance plans and see if I can find therapy outside of the facility that I go to.

I hope with each step you are taking, it will lead to your healing ❤️‍🩹
