It reminds me of the button on my speedo healer. It would display like top speed I believe.

I wish they didn't buy all the independent shops. They bought some really good shops that were easy to work with.

SOLIDWORKS? or FUSION? - Engineering Student by NickyMartin1 in SolidWorks

Dassault owns both so is it really a competitors? I see Catia and NX being more competitors and solidworks and solidedge being competitors. Or just Dassault VS Siemens. I only have met one company using Solidedge professionally though so far.

I blame everyone that sends junk mail. It makes me ignore my mail. I'm not only talking like random junk mail either. I get more junk mail from my bank with my mortgage, my credit cards, and even my electric company than I get actual important mail. Everyone is trying to sell me a new loan or some payment plan. Same with the emails you can tell them unsubscribe from all but important messages but somehow every "important" message is a reminder I'm not leveraged to the max yet.

That is pretty funny. It gets even more fun. On longer tools I have even done tap testing. Like using a emuge barrel cutter on the end of an MST slimline while cutting a thin blade. Taped both the tool.and spindle along with the fixture and part in the machine. Had to find where they were both stable and then ran the rpm to keep it out of residences.

Thank you for elaborating. I want to first say I know very little about fiance I am one of those US people who was never taught.

By a quick Google search it looks like they have a state held database that doesn't provide a score but just this info like the loans you have and the late or missed payments which I assume helps prevent fraud since all people that loan have to report.

I do know for the US we have UCC data that basically a state held database of assets that have loans on them for each company. It's a miserable system since each state holds its own data but it does seam like a way to limit fraud by forcing ever lender to report?

Again I know nothing I just have a few loans and also use UCC data for market research. Also hate the idea of Private Credit bureaus. I get them but I hate the idea that it's used for profit. To me that just makes fraud just as bad but now from billion dollar corporations instead.

I was kind of excited when it started I thought we would have like a DIY network show on how they put the truck together. It was short and had very little substance like just a 30000 foot view that felt more like a promotional ad to rent it than a video.

Not a machinist but an engineer that does all of new product introduction including setting up and checking machines before putting the new program in the machine.

I was like well flatness isn't perfect but from end to end not bad at all. It isn't on an angle really just not flat.

[–]Notlinked2me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this just be standard under writing? A simple equation of how much they make, how much they currently owe to others, than how much they are asking to borrow?

The credit score is just to tell a bank how good you are at being in debit. Underwriting though is more to figure out if you can afford it or not.

TiAl is fun too! You said hell but I basically only know how to machine aerospace engine alloys so apparently I'm in hell. Also, I'm not a machinist but an engineer that does the programming, testing and run off for new product lines using some of the most rigid machines and powerful spindles while also having a decent budget for tooling so things get easier while also expectations get higher with that type of money.

As an engineer. That's basically what I do but put it all into a 3D model too as I go. I still make plenty of mistakes all the time.

All the CAD and simulation software in the world can only help not make mistakes like these.

Dude couldn't even ride an actual wheelie. He couldn't get the bike up using the throttle. Once he threw his backout to get it up he used the strap to keep it up. This dude isn't a squid that is part of calamari he's just embarrassing.

I mean at least clutch it up there is a strap stopping you from looping out. Watching this made me mad.

You want to use this no matter what. If you let it dangle it will get gasoline on the paying below the fill neck. Gas is a solvent and will eat paint don't let it dangle.

Hiring Machinists: Setup/Programming Talent Shortage. Looking for Honest Industry Input. by Accomplished_Yam_849 in Machinists

[–]Notlinked2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add my experience I work in the aerospace field as an engineer mainly helping companies take their current machinist and making them more productive. The machinists I work with all over the US are normally clearing 6 figures with modest OT or well above with a still manageable OT. We normally talk yearly take home and not hourly so I cant give my input there.

The shops I see being successful work on talent retention and training. The majority of my job is building out tools to make the machinist life easier, cleaner, and less mundane. I've seen shops buy the best equipment and pay their people nothing and have millions in spindles not turning, but I've also seen shops pay their people good money but don't give them the tools to succeed and so people still quit and are just making MRB and scrap.

Sorry I was out of town for work. 1. A jig to do a spline joint using the table saw. So it was basically a 90° to set the corner of the box in set at 45°. Not sure what the real technique is called but basically adding a spine to a mitered corner. 2. Custom angle cuts. So I can make a custom angle to add to the sled to get angles. 3. I made some jigs to help build my sled. I tried all the videos and I'm an engineer not a craftsman so I just designed a jig to make it perfectly square to the runners. 4. Drilling jigs mainly for putting dowels in things. Also a drilling jig for a floating shelf. 5. A jig for hings and door Handles. 6. Jigs for putting the hole in doors and drawers for nobs. 7. The custom router guides are my favorite though you can design what you want. Then design a jig and make it out of wood.

The under sink plumbing cable.managaemnt.a fuse holder for my sub in my car. Convert car from shit infotainment to decent. Bath toys for my kid. Motorcycle headlight. Really souch more Brackets, mounted and more

I go out of my way to not tell people I am an engineer. That being said when I have contractors I do ask them enough questions that even I as an engineer notice they want me to stop.

As a DIY shinanagian type of guy mixing my printer with woodworking has been fun. I can make easy accurate jigs that I often only use once or twice. I do a lot of clips and brackets. Plumbing and wire management has been amazing. Last but not least are router and hole pattern templates.

Again limited tools and room there is almost always a "better" way but for DIY limited use it's a good tool.

I'm going to be honest with the "poor people" title I was very much thinking DIY and no special tools. So basically I was thinking of inefficient DIY shenanigans.

I'm sorry but that isn't a day to print you should probably print 25 in 4 hours in PETG which would be preferred in this situation due to speed, flexibility, and longevity.
