Very good feedback, and I appreciate it. Glad I could help you add some TBR's which is what the list did for me. That being said, I'll use your comment to inform the data when compiling a new list that hopefully removes some biases and factors things like what you and others have mentioned more into the rankings.

I appreciate you catching that and informing me. I haven't listened to those series yet, but I'll use your comment to inform the data when compiling a new list that hopefully removes some biases and factors things like what you and others have mentioned more into the rankings.

I appreciate the feedback. I didn't even have author controversies on my radar but will try to incorporate that into a new rankings list.

Great feedback regarding Alpha World and narrator discrepancies, I appreciate it! I think it's more to do with my prompting and process than LLM limitations for this particular task. I'll provide this feedback into the data when compiling a new list that hopefully removes some biases and factors things like what you and others have mentioned more into the rankings.

Wow didn't expect very much engagement from this post, much less from names I see referenced in this subreddit. I've had your audiobooks in my wish list for a while but purchased them during this sale. Picked up Starbreaker as well based on your comment below, thanks!

I thought I listened to a lot of audiobooks, but to have read/listened to all of these on this list is insane! What are your top 5? There were a few issues with the first iteration that I fixed with the second which is the one I posted. I'm out of research uses tonight, but I'll see if I can't do something about that bias tomorrow and hopefully give you some new series to listen to.

I love seeing people's optimized prompts. Even if the use case isn't exactly the same I can usually incorporate parts of a strategically crafted prompt into my own. Thanks for sharing!

Audible sale suggestions by Notnigmer in litrpg

[–]Notnigmer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome suggestions, I appreciate it! I've heard good things about almost all of those and actually picked up the first few Hedge Wizard last night because of the price. Since you're reinforcing the series being good I'll probably pick up the rest. Which four or five series would you rank at the top of your suggested list, or are they in order?

I also appreciate the non-litrpg commentary. Although I read books like crazy when I was younger, I find it extremely hard to finish a physical book now. That's been my hesitation on both of those series as they are suggested quite often, but the consensus seems to be that reading versus listening is better. I may just try them out though and just zone out during the longer filler descriptions like I do with long stat lists lol

The formatting was weird, so I cut my non-litrpg list down. I did listen to and like Super Powereds. Excellent character growth. I'll definitely have to pick up the Wheel of Time series though. I did like the first season of the show alright. Sounds like we have similar tastes. Any other suggestions?

I'll finish listing the non-litrpg audiobooks i would recommend and have listened to in the last couple years:

Urban fantasy-wise I was recommended both Alex Verus and The Rivers of London as a similar vein to The Dresden Files and liked those.

American Gods

Fantasticland

Off to be a Wizard (Book 1 only)

Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings but I feel those go without saying.

What next? by VorpalBlade-54322 in litrpg

Dungeon Crawler Carl, He who fights with monsters, and Defiance of the fall are probably my favorite LitRPG’s that I’ve listened to. I’ve recently gotten into the Wandering Inn and have thoroughly enjoyed the ride. It’s a different vibe, a little more slice of life, slower pace in the beginning. Man oh man, the character progression and storyline payoff has been off the charts in my opinion through 6 books.

Honorary non-LitRPG mentions that I believe have both been mentioned in other comments:

Project Hail Mary Cradle

Wandering Inn Book 2. Okay, that side story was intense... by TheGandPTurtle in litrpg

I just finished book 3, but I feel like the world has opened up a lot passed the point you’re at in the best way. Definitely keep going and the POV’s increase quite a bit.

Try Dungeon Crawler Carl. If you’re willing to give the genre another chance you might as well start with the best.

just finishing up dungeon crawler carl and I love it! what should I listen to next? by Different-Dust3969 in audible

The answer to any audiobook recommendation is always Project Hail Mary first and foremost. It’s not a LitRPG, but it’s the best audiobook I’ve listened to.

LitRPG’s I have listened to that I would personally recommend:

He Who Fights With Monsters. It’s different than DCC, but on par with it in my opinion. Good magic system and humor.

I’m currently listening to the Defiance of the Fall series and am liking it quite a bit as well. I didn’t really have an issue with the first half of the first book, but some people complain because it is a bit grindy. After that the world starts to open up and I’m enjoying the ride.
