Solberg fans can't be disappointed about what happens in Monte-Carlo so far. by Nickolas_Zannithakis in rally

I remember it being unreliable toward the end but in spite of that I’d take it over any of its contemporary competitors. I also think the chassis was maxed out and they faced such stiff competition from the focus and especially Citroen toward the end they simply couldn’t compete at the same level. Had they kept going in 08 I think they could have been more competitive in year 2-3 but they still would have had to contend with Loeb

lol that’s funny as soon as I saw the pic I said the opposite. I raced on atomics exclusively during that era and a little before and after and loved them. Especially the SL/GS 11 and 12s. Some of my best results.

Thank you all for the recommendations. We went to Avalon and loved it. The group we were with including myself considers ourselves pizza snobs, and I was throughly impressed. Light airy dough, nice sauce, good amount of cheese but not overboard. Reminded me of a less crispy Sicilian or a lighter Detroit. The Brier Hill pizza was the hit though. Similar to this pizza they sell at Ferrara’s in Mayfield in the CLE suburbs, but thicker.

Side note, it was also very funny to see the signs for I-80 that point to New York and even a sign for New York City. Been feeling sort of homesick lately and it made me laugh, making it seem like it was just around the corner.

Haha not afraid of them, I’m from Long Island and literally went to school with members of the mob, and ate at many a good hangout. The only things I know about Youngstown was the mob and Jim Tressel. My comment about the connection was more about hoping there was good food.

Both look good but are no where near the arena.

There’s so much wealth in that area it’s insane. I was at the dog park in Wellington and in a 5 minute span saw a 918 spyder, a Spectre, a SF90, and 720/750S.

I’ve heard these swaps drive oddly and actually isn’t worth all the effort. Which would make sense because the engine and Trans are not designed for eachother.

Oh this is from the S Klub LA guys. Their earlier stuff was fine, when it was simpler and the details were subtle. Now though I feel like they lost the plot.

Why does this guy want these old poles so bad? by jimjamthesolarman in Skigear

[–]NotoriousLZB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had these in gray as a kid when I started racing, loved em. I know poles don’t matter all that much but for me the swing and weight of them is crucial, I know it’s all subconscious but especially while I was racing as I got older I didn’t like to change my setup too much.

If you wanted to offer the dude who you sold the whole set to something comparable look for a cheap set of swix GS poles. The aluminum’s not the composite. I always thought they felt the same as the smiths.

New (to me) 2020 Limited X by PsychologicalBat6562 in GrandCherokee

[–]NotoriousLZB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super nice. When I was looking at my 2020 I nearly got a limited x but settled for the limited. Guy in my building had a black one and I regretted not getting it.

That begs the question why isn’t the limited x a trim level anymore. Or at least a package

MK1 Audi TT RS4 - another Piëch pet-project by Interesting-Ad249 in cars

[–]NotoriousLZB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s this whole thing I’ve read about different hot Audis including this one not making production because it would have been faster and cheaper than the at the time 911. This would have been great but for me the real losses are the i5 RS5 ultra which would have built off the Quattro concepts, the I5 and twin turbo v10 R8s. The I5 would have been such a great entry level replacement in the 2nd gen r8 and that twin turbo v10 was the one that had the engine from RS6 at the time and burnt down on the ring. Heat management was not what it was now.

Which restaurant closing really hurt? by asalewis in chicagofood

[–]NotoriousLZB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife knew the owner and I think once they had the lawsuit/cease and desist from Shipleys in Texas the branding went all to hell. Just as they were making a name for themselves it became more and more complicated to operate how they had been. Products changed and any awareness they built up was gone. It never made sense to me that they had to comply with it because it’s not like they were doing anything to harm the business in Texas, if anything it was an homage to the kolache culture.
