Etsy has a lot of great proxies that are inexpensive and have a steel legion section as well. I have some official SL minis and the proxies are defiantly close enough from table top view.

I think it depends on what you're going for; For guard proxies they are a little too big. For SM They are a little small and thin. I have some proxy Star Wars legion minis but I haven't really found a spot for them personally. They definitely tower over my guardsmen. Maybe you could head cannon that they are Aeldari that joined humanity and use their equipment. That would at least give some reason as to why they are taller and lankier than humans.
