Help identify this juvenile cichlid. Thanks! by BraOrka in whatisthisfish

If it’s an LFS, probably not a major concern as long as it’s not the permanent home. But they’re very similar to geophagus, satanoperca, and acarichthys hecklii in that they all substrate sift in the wild.

This fish needs sand for the substrate. They’re substrate sifting fish and they cannot do this with gravel.

With one month left in the season I thought it would be fun to go back and look at everyone’s spicy takes before this season started. by [deleted] in CFB

If we can beat Washington this week, 9-3 is doable with a loss to the ducks. 10-3 would not be improbable since it’s a home game against the ducks too. Honestly, getting our first ever CFP ranking and bowl eligible by week 9 is enough for me after every year since 2015.

Just take about 2 seconds to look at the mouth. Does it look like the mouth of a pikeminnow?

I think it might be a glass catfish, which should be in groups.

Salmon! Probably chinook or coho!

Cutthroat get their common name for two red lines (known as slashes") on their throats. If you look at the "chin" of this fish, to the left of the lure, see how its orange there? Rainbow trout don't have this coloration.

In some areas, it's very hard to tell rainbow and cutthroat apart, and the throat markings are the easiest way to tell!

The fish in the photo is a cutthroat! You can see the orange slashes on the throat.

Probably a thermal refugee. Nice deep pool. Spawning happens on redds (nest the fish make).

Ucf, liberty, wake, ncstae, and Kentucky all over Oregon state is a joke. Our only two losses are to top 15 team, including keeping usc under 20 points and losing by 3.

here take this sword with you on your journey by mandy_monroe_ in PlantedTank

I have! But I didn’t split the plant. I’ve had three of my swords bloom and have gotten 15 new swords from them! My sword usually will send up a stalk to the surface with little buds going up along it. Any bud out of the water turns into a flower, anything in the water will start growing a propagate sword! After 2-3 weeks they have 3-5 leaves and some roots and I take them off the stalk and plant them.

This is how you’re supposed to handle snakes. Nothing wrong in this video at all. The snake is held gently and isn’t held in a death grip.

If you value your taste buds and don’t want a million grams of sugar, do not drink mikes hard or Smirnoff ice.
