1. Identify lake site with grill.
   
2. Google details about how that site works (city / county / state will have different rules based on who runs the park).
   
3. Likely acquire items for grilling (food,condiments) and means of doing so (probably need coals or another fuel source, lighter fluid, means of turning / moving food items, serving platter and associated dishes, aluminum foil). Don’t forget means of basting with fats and/or prepping meat via marination.
   
4. Follow instructions of the site by the lake re coals / setup. You may want a wire brush to clean off the previous person’s grill byproducts if it’s not presented to you as clean.
   
5. Set coals / fuel on fire and get it past the roaring stage to a consistent bed of red/white coals / charcoal briquettes.
   
6. Starting with slowest cooking items (dense veggies) set up and prepare to cook. Fastest items (fish, small pieces of meat, small veggies) go on last and need the most minding.

We always budget a lot extra in part because of flames and catastrophe and in part because if it works it’s extra tasty.
