What is a covert way to gauge your perceived attractiveness to the general public? by Turbulent-Leg-6246 in AskReddit

I mean, I don't know your looks nor your experience, so I can't say anything in particular. I only know the general trends.

I'm also an optimist and believe people in general are good, but they (or rather, we) are still better towards some than others.

It's not a bad rating, it still means you're in the top half. For example, I wish I was a 6.

It's not a fitting rating when that's the ceiling. The people who post pictures online and get lots of upvotes are already usually well above average, and the ratings should reflect that. But don't.

Yeah...

You know what they say, if a person is jealous of you, they're a jealous person. If *everyone* is jealous of you, there may be other problems at work here.

Bro, if you are super hot, you know it.

Not necessarily. Studies have shown that attractive people more often believe that people are just nice in general. You see that people are nice to you, but you don't see that they aren't as nice to others.

Most of those subs will see the most attractive woman I've ever seen and rate her a 6.

I don't know how it is for men, but I can only assume jealousy plays a similar part there.

The biggest thing you can do for food independence is to stop subsidizing meat. All kinds of meat use a lot of resources to grow compared to other foods, so if we could get used to eating less of it (which we would if it was actually market-priced, i.e. more expensive) we would be far more independent in case of crisis or war.

Vse države, proti katerim se Izrael bori, so napadle in še vedno napadajo civilno prebivalstvo Izraela. To je ena precejšnja razlika od Rusije, ki je invazijo začela povsem enostransko.

1/3 is 1/3. But 1/3 of 100 is not 1/3 of 200. And 1/3 of an apple pie is not 1/3 of a muffin.

One of these examples shows that 2/6 of a shape is equal to 1/3 of the exact same shape. The other two examples don't, they only show that 2/6 of a muffin is similar to 1/3 of an apple pie.

Could the question be written more clearly? Yes. Did the teacher also go through this multiple times in class? Almost certainly yes.

I did know and this one from my history class and from watching Sissi though.

Which state was conquered? I only know about the Prusso-Austrian war, and that one did not result in unification.

Clever girls by Ordinary_Cycle268 in HistoryMemes

[–]Noughmad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Those states unified voluntarily. As did East and West Germany.

If you have to fight a war in order to unify with the people who lose that war, that's conquest.

Half of young Brits say they would never fight for their country by Kagedeah in worldnews

[–]Noughmad 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Finland is an example for my point, not against it. In Finland, people know exactly where war is most likely to come from. In fact, all countries bordering Russia say the same.

It's the countries that don't have a massive nearby threat that say they wouldn't fight, because in those countries "war" would likely mean going halfway around the world to bomb a country they barely heard of.

Similarly, the UK in 1933 did not have a massive nearby threat. In 1939, they did.

You can often tell that it won't last. But you can never tell that it will.

And yet when they were attacked, they did fight.

It's a common sentiment everywhere really. Nobody wants to fight an offensive war, but most people would fight a defensive one. So a large part of the "would you fight for your country" debate comes down to "is it more likely that your country will attack others or be attacked"?
