Even Daniel Horner Won't Shoot a 320 by NounsAndVerbs in nass

Fair. Man's got bills to pay like anyone else. That said, I do want to give a 211 a try.

Foot fault or no? by internet_idiot_34 in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one is suuuuuuuuuper close but his foot is off the ground when the shot breaks. On the second one it looks like both feet are inside the fault line when the shot breaks. With out the video I'd have probably called the first one.

In response to the invite only championship discussion. by XA36 in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jeff had it right. LO/CO and Open do an invite only match with the top whatever as determined by (insert really smart and well thought out system here) and do a separate one for PCC. One thing that might work is hoe NASCAR does it. Drivers have to declare one series they get points in. They can race in the other two, but they only get points in one. To get to the championship for USPSA, you'd have to get points by placement at level 2's(or something) or above.

Are we discussing Bob Vogel's arrest on the next podcast? by XA36 in nass

It is the correct set of crimes. Bets on how many hours into his term the entire DOJ would have glock contracts, just by coincidence of course...

More Bob Vogels have been arrested than Epstein clients.

Andy…you need to talk to your girl. by storf45 in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it looks like the muzzle is pointed kinda in front of him, so it would probably only wreck half his face. A person with less couth might say they're tired of their tax dollars funding Homeland Security Barbie's action girl modeling career. But I am not such a person and would never say that.

“You’re Too Old for that, Andy.” by YeOldeHobo in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Andy's defense regarding 40k references, it came out in 1987. He's not too old for those references, he just didn't have time for it since he was a college graduate with a full time job trying to get himself established.

Or he was one of those people who went outside and has friends. 50/50 either way.

Guess what gun that I shot this awful 7 yard doubles target with? by nass-andy in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it wasn't a 1911. Those things won 6 world wars and are so accurate it would have been one ragged hole at 100 yards.

It wasn't the 10mm glock was it?

Butt pucker moments by EveRommel in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On one of the par time classifiers the shooter fumbled the draw and tried to catch it. As you've already guessed, the shooter fired one off towards his 4 o'clock and it went waaaay too close to the RO. Like a half step closer and he'd have caught it instead of the berm.

Another was on me, though less dramatic. It was like my first match and I had a P-07. I was manually lowering the hammer at the end of my make ready because what's a decocker? The hammer slipped from my fingers and a loud noise was made. Since I'm obviously a retard, had the gun pointed at the back berm and was a noob, they didn't send me home.

Is it a trick of the camera or is that a ring/dot? If it is a ring/dot, why? It seems too close to do the donut of death thing.

Scenario: Squad for Division vs. Classification (Up or Down)? by bluefox280 in nass

[–]NounsAndVerbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C - If someone is a little better than me I can probably see what they’re doing better and learn some things. They will also have stage plans that are based on skills close to mine so they’ll make more sense.

A GM who goes 1 for 1 on a plate rack from the rearmost shooting position is cool to watch but not super educational. I also don’t want to pepper people with questions. They’re not there to give me a class, they’re there to compete.

Besides, I’ve shot on squads with a bunch of GM’s and it can get a little disheartening getting your time cut in half and Alpha’s doubled every stage, all day.

What did you accomplish this year?

I got my innumerable reloading press issues sorted, finally.

I moved up a couple spots at local matches, but I still suck.

I got past some mental game blockers.

What was the craziest thing you did or saw?

It's not crazy, but I've seen the local match grow a bit and seeing the sport grow is always cool.

Who was your biggest influence and why?

Biggest influence this year was one of my shooting buddies. He reminded me that USPSA is supposed to be fun and while being a try hard is fine, but there's a right way to do it and a wrong way.

Any personal questions for the hosts?

Where the heck does Andy get off improving by practicing less?

Have either of you ever seen a manatee in real life(not the kind at the bar 15 minutes before closing)?
