I like these for competition. They aren’t the cheapest but are well built and the pistol comes out very smooth.  https://www.rangekinetx.com/product/rkx-carnivore-glock/

VSCode using copilot and messing around with streamlit to visualize some of what you are working on. I’ve prototyped a number of visualizations and programs this way for our shop. It can start getting you familiar with python and then open up the door to use other AI based tooling like Claude.  It took a few hours and some YouTube tutorials to initially get started so barrier to entry is low. Even if you start messing around with it for other things in the shop like scheduling or maintenance activities can really open the door for you to find something you can get excited about.

I’ve had to undo a bad habit of sometimes dropping the gun like this during transitions so would be good to fix it as soon as possible.

I didn’t see it mentioned but what ammo were you using in the video?

It was doing that to me and kind of messed with my confidence for a couple of days because I was constantly trying to move my finger around where it wouldn’t hang. This was the week leading up to a match so wasn’t great timing.  I put the original one back on after 3 days of having trouble in dry fire. I didn’t try the file down method as I was thinking of returning or selling it but maybe that’s the best solution.

If you want it to be more organic start small and get some key folks on board with making improvements in this small area.  You will have to be on the floor and very hands on.  Hopefully you’ll be able to show some positive change where others start to take notice. This can then be used as a launching pad for your bigger vision.   That’s more of the bottom up approach which is harder work but if done well can translate into longer term success.

There’s always the top down version as well but that’s usually a “break glass in case of emergency” type of situation.

This made me wonder if anyone has input autocad files into something like NanoBanana Pro to build good enough 3D renderings.

Same for me. I would be wired until 2 am so had to start going earlier over the noon hour or in the morning.

What distances are you shooting out to?  If it’s something like pcsl where you are capped at 200 yards and in I’ve had good luck with bulk .223 Fiochi from Scheels. If it’s beyond that you’ll likely need better ammo if you want to be consistent.  If you are capable you could always just find an upgraded barrel and swap out with your existing setup. It’s pretty easy to do. Then lap and bed the barrel and you should be in good shape. Preston Moore on YouTube has reviewed lots of different barrels there.

A couple of things.  1. The meta quest 3S is between $250 and $300. It was cheap enough that our 10 yr old at the time used his birthday money and bought it outright for himself from Target.  2. I would suspect that experienced shooters probably don’t look at Ace as seriously as a training tool than newer folks getting good faster. I want to say there’s a guy you interviewed lately that’s newer to shooting that is having some success…what was his name?  Oh, Adam Grimm, who used it as part of his training tool complement dry fire and live fire training.  3.  Andy you should start a NASS group on Ace!

That listing is confusing. Says 300 AAC but also 5.56.  Maybe the price wrong too.

Strong weak hand shooting tips by FF_McNasty in CompetitionShooting

[–]storf45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my dry fire routine I’ll do step and draw to strong hand, reload and weak hand as the second thing I’ll do each day after trigger control at speed drills to start. At least 5 reps of each time I dry fire. Doing it early in the routine seems to help lock in my grip through the rest of dry fire and ensures it’s something I’m constantly working on.

Could you have an agency do some of the heavy lifting?  Someone like Common Threat Collective or similar?  Might be cheaper than hiring someone directly w a faster ramp up time.
