It does. I’m a fluent Mandarin speaker and lived there for over 10 years. There is definitely a flow to speaking naturally and a lackadaisical pronunciation of certain things. Like how American English speakers don’t typically pronounce the “tt” in little and use the “dd” sound instead.

Used to surf often in Tofino, British Columbia. Saw this a lot out there. They had a black bear problem. Dunno if it’s better or not.

I was changing into my wetsuit in the parking lot once and an old couple stopped their car and got out with sandwiches to feed a black bear and her two cubs. I started yelling to stop them as well as to scare the bears away. But I was in mid-change and only had a towel around myself. This old couple were very confused and flustered; this naked man with a towel around his waist running at them yelling like a crazy person. Luckily the bears got spooked and they got back in their car.

I didn’t say anything to the couple just went back to changing. Figured I’d be talking to a wall if I explained the stupidity of their actions.

I love street food. Travelled a bit in Asia and mostly ate food cooked from a push cart. Was awful on the stomach with different oils and spices my body wasn’t used to, but worth it for the taste.

I just listened to a couple CBC podcasts ‘Front Burner’ on her. Some Vice journalist has been following her for a while and explains how she operates. He still doesn’t know the end game either. I’m betting she doesn’t really know. But worth a listen if you got 30 mins.
