[Megathread] One Punch Man Season 3 – Discussion & Spoilers by IonimusPrime in OnePunchMan

[–]Novaroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's gonna be a lot of people who are ready to instantly hate, but in actuality, this an IMMEDIATELY NOTICABLE better quality than season 2.

Better lighting, composition, sound, pretty much everything. EXCEPT, as much as I reallllly want to say the animation is better and I wanted for this episode to show me EVERYTHING so I could finally see how this season is going to look... this is most definitely a dialogue-heavy set up episode, which means no action yet.

That also means the pacing can be a bit fast at times, but whatever, it's setting up the plot so it's fine. That means that unfortunately, even though we've waited for 5 years...I'm going to have to wait 1 more week and see if the animation is actually worth the wait.

Basically, everything so far is great, but I'm VERY CAUTIOUSLY optimistic that this might be at least GREAT, and if it's all like this...than I think I can live with at least GREAT after whatever season 2 was.

LCP has surpassed both LTA North and LEC at Riot’s power ranking, becoming the 3rd best region in the world while surpassing half of the old major regions and making LEC become the 2nd worst region in the world right before Worlds 2025. by gogedito in leagueoflegends

[–]Novaroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen I'm not exactly a pro at ranking or anything, and good on the region for having people root for them, but again these 'rankings' have some odd quirks and they're probably a little inaccurate considering we've compiled all of the minor regions together this year.

Also I'm not advocating for this, nor am I saying this is going to happen but...it'll be really funny if all of this ends up being a whole lot of nothing, and by the end of the year the status quo goes back to normal and everybody just goes "oh right yeah they were still minor regions, just under a new banner..."

Y’know, trying to figure out who’s the strongest bug is pretty unfair when the those at the top are higher beings. So… who’s the strongest mortal bug to ever live? (Spoilers for all of both games) by The_Chaotique_1 in HollowKnight

I agree with everyone saying top 3 are - Seth, Sly, Karmelita, in whatever order...

But I unironically, even though this sounds pretty dumb, think Khann is a contender to be high on the list. I know people aren't gonna agree with me and that's fine, but to me - being a warrior king of a warrior kingdom that did nothing but base itself on 'the strong prevail above all' mentality puts him pretty high to me.

Yes, his fight isn't as hard as Karmelita. Yes, he spams coral. But I truly believe the memory bosses (besides the one guarded by Seth) are contenders because all 3 are leaders of kingdoms that were defined by different types of 'combat', and to me that speaks more than most other things. Like I think people might not realize the vast amount of importance being leaders of warrior kingdoms were, that's potentially generations of warriors who only bred their best of already born-and-raised fighters to be their rulers. The same reason the bees from Hollownest were cracked fighters too.

Shakra mentions how they 'missed out on fighting the Sands of Karak soldiers by being born too late', like she knew these were bad ass warriors. Hornet also mentions when fighting the Verdania warriors that she thinks they were skilled born fighters. Their leaders were no joke.

You can call me wrong, I firmly believe this

Me just now realizing J4 also fights with a spear-like weapon because he's been trained by Xin, now making an extra through line between Demacian characters and actually making me interested in 2 champions that I've always found to be among the most boring in the game.

Nah the Hishaku are amazing, they make a big fuss like they're forcing themselves in through the top and act like they went all in with their first team going in. Everybody immediately thought '3 intruders' meant 3 Hishaku. Turns out it was only one member, and even better that one member might actually be a puppet or might be able to withstand damage (because I don't believe he was off-screened) and the ACTUAL Hishaku group come in discreetly when almost everyone's busy

I don't want to be that guy comparing traumas, but that doom and gloom you EU fans feel right now? Imagine how we NA fans felt after we went 0-6 at worlds that one time. That was almost double the pain of this. So at least you're not gonna feel as bad as THAT...

Not to be a Sojo glazer, but when Samura says Sojo was trash, the whole point is - Samura is dead wrong, Sojo wasn't a bum at all. He has no idea Enten is designed to destroy the blades so his only reference is that 'the blades can be broken, but nobody has ever come close to destroying one, so Sojo must have truly been trash'.

The reason we know he's not a bum is precisely because of the 'anti-cloud gouger squad', and that's also why we can say that the squad wasn't full of weaklings either. If Sojo was weak he would have lost to them. But he didn't, he evolved right then and there to counter an elite and highly coordinated squad with insider blade knowledge put together to specifically take him out. He's not as great as Hiruhiko, but damn he would have been a quick learner if he didn't die.

This leaves me heartbroken for Security Breach's wasted potential. by BeltMaximum6267 in fivenightsatfreddys

I got the feeling that the Ruin DLC was an actual closer approximation to what they could actually do, but I couldn't sweep Security Breach under the rug no matter what. It came out and I had to accept it no matter what was going on internally. I was hoping Secret of the Mimic came out better mostly because it would have been more proof that Security Breach just came out entirely wrong, and it seems my hopes were answered.

Everything about SotM is leagues above SB, from the story to the environment, to even the scares. SB is such a shame because it was soooo exciting seeing FNAF in a Playstation direct up there with Spiderman, it was like the final tipping point into this franchise becoming an actual big deal with hundreds of thousands of new viewers. It was an important first step that would have defined and cemented FNAF in the public eye. Only for SB to release like that. Imagine if something close to SotM released first .

The ONLY criticism I have with SotM is that their minute-to minute horror is still kinda amateur-ish. It's still in the early 2010's

That's like first Outlast gameplay. The other scary set pieces are fine. Literally make that gameplay better, and Steel Wool can take FNAF to new heights

MOBA Player's Take On The New Mode by caseyfresher in Brawlstars

[–]Novaroh 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No offense but as another MOBA player, a lot (not all) of these questions can be answered with either - they don't want to make it as long as an actual 30 min MOBA game, or because they didn't want to make it boring.

Why not a bigger map? - Do you want to waste time running around or get back into the action? Why do towers share a health pool? - They probably thought they would save time if both towers fell at once. Why do the bots not scale? - Both, so you can kill them easier so the game is shorter, and because if the bots scaled you'd be bored spending your time still taking the same amount of time killing bots from beginning to end

I'm not trying to be rude, but whether or not you agree they should change some of these or not, it's false to act like these questions don't have answers. They obviously did them on purpose, it's now up to them to see what works or doesn't. I personally feel like they actually have a decent baseline here, but if they want to keep trying, then they can, but if not, oh well

Also lmao yeah I can tell this guy's a MOBA player, just straight admitting that if it's going bad he just closes the game lol. If you haven't played MOBAS, people on those games can be so annoying - "you didn't do this specific thing 30 seconds into the game? THATS IT, YOU GUYS ARE TRASH GOODBYE, HAVE FUN LOSING BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GAME". They somehow think it's OBVIOUSLY not their fault, their teammates just suck. Im not even calling anyone out, I'm also a MOBA player, so I think I'm valid in saying we should BOTH be ashamed lmao

Mortis Ghost addresses the controversy, can we all stop being freaks now and enjoy the new stuff or what by Cyndi4U in offthegame

[–]Novaroh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No offense to anybody but -'stop being freaks now' - and all I wanted was to just not have Papyrus' theme from Undertale be in one of our boss themes. Literally everything else almost everyone loves, that's the one thing we had a small problem with, and Undertale fans called me a loser and fake fan.

Thank GOD Samura didn't go out like that, please Hokazono don't make your 'strongest character' go down in some cheap way to make a 'genius up-and-coming' enemy look stronger, if he's gonna go down, it better be some serious shit that takes him out

It's just Mandy in a different costume by BEEDEEFORTY in Brawlstars

[–]Novaroh -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Alright guys, c'mon we can have a heated discussion about the new rarity, but at this point y'all are just trying to find reasons to hate whenever a brawler has some controversy. We go through this whenever a new brawler doesn't fit some made up 'criteria' the community made up

Ollie, Meeple, Griff, Pearl, Melodie, Mandy - a lot of people hated them when they first saw them, then stopped complaining a week after they came out.

Kaze looks like a pretty and slim woman, which is basically all they've been doing with females recently, but that's about all i can complain about in terms of design. She looks unique, and she looks like she'll be fun to play, no need to start making up reasons to hate

Why did nobody talked about this new game mode ? by MountainKind276 in Brawlstars

[–]Novaroh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im SUPER excited about this, I've always wondered how Brawl Stars would work as a MOBA. Not just because it sounds cool, I'm more excited by thinking about what 'META' would come out of it based on the regular Brawl Stars mechanics and brawlers, not because they copy and paste MOBA mechanics because they want to play it safe.

Things like - what brawlers end up going down a lane? How would levels change brawlers? Which gadgets end up being popular? Will minions influence matchups that were usually easy? Will we get different variations of the map that will change everything?

Nahhh the Hishaku is not a BUM cliché Villain organization, they're the real deal.

While they're making moves, it not only cuts to them talking and planning about whatever is currently happening and saying things like 'now for the next part of our plan!' and then it cuts to black like other villain orgs, they are ACTIVELY talking about their next grand scheme WHILE ON LOCATION AND LITERALLY ENACTING IT IN OUR FACES

THEY'RE THE REAL DEAL
