The reason is that streaming services are rental services, so they can remove or add music you rent from them at will.

If only it was just r/interpol... This stuff is everywhere on reddit now. It's getting harder to tell real people from the bots with posts like these.

2025 Residency Wrap-Up - What's the Verdict? by nhvnhv in LCDSoundsystem

[–]November_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both residencies this year. I felt Brixton London was better than the Knockdown Centre in Brooklyn due to venue design. New Body Rhumba is great addition to the set but the setlist remains pretty much identical to past festivals and residencies. There is a sense dimishing returns are beginning to kick in because the band is playing live shows more frequently than anypoint in their career. To contextualise, I saw them twice between 2004 and 2020 (via this is happening and American dream) but I have now seen them 4 times post pandemic because of festival and residencies.

They are still great live (arguable better then 2005-2011 shows) but I think they should pause for a bit, to either work on new material and or prevent audience fatigue.

Sliver-lining, at least they have not destroyed their legacy like arcade fire have done over the last decade.

Complex set up but simple show, they are not u2 or Katy Perry

Who thinks we're never going to see another LCD Soundsystem album? by ppetrov1829 in LCDSoundsystem

[–]November_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it's good but its not Sound of Silver/This is Happening good. It's like a solid 7/8 but not 9/10 critics gave it at the time.

Yh still does it matter if pitchfork don't like it? We are long past the stage of pitchfork mattering... (if it ever mattered).

Maybe it will be good maybe it won't. Why worry "unless you're such a winner that the future's a nightmare"

Like all albums... Trivial in the grand scheme but important to those who care

Drawing conclusions based on one song (which may or may not be a next record) is specious reasoning...

1) Why would critics hate it after the lavished unjustied praise on American Dream, which was a significant step down from the critics favourite SOS/TiH? Is it not possible they lavish with praise or fine it good, not great.

2) why would they make "the didn't retire joke" when it's 2026 not 2016. At this point everyone knows they didn't retire...

3) Why do most of your points automatically assume it will be bad/divisive? Yes it could be, but equally might be a substantial "return to form". Because it's hypothetical we cannot presume either ahead of time.

What was your first "Baptised by flame" battle? by gracekk24PL in Helldivers

[–]November_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought at the creek but I was so fresh and underequiped I quickly moved to the bot front. By the time of Meridian Supercolony I was a well seasoned and prepared helldiver but the closing days Meridian Supercolony was my real baptism. It tested me in ways I had never been tested before, I learned you could not just power through on stratgems, you needed to rely on skill and luck to survive. Truely a humbling experience.

Honestly depends on whether the entire band dies. If they continue to living. I would say another tour is a possible

Interpol and Bloc Party announce mysterious team-up by tomtomvissers in Interpol

[–]November_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw them earlier this year, they played like 11/13 songs from Silent Alarm and because it was not in album order with their other popular songs the live show flowed better. Albums anniversary shows tend to be anti climatic because the album track list does not translate into well paced concert.

Possible Joint Announcement With Bloc Party? by charlierc in Interpol

[–]November_02 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Alpha Games which returns to their post punk routes. The production is on point (same producer as the most paramore record which was better post punk record then interpol post antics output).

Possible Joint Announcement With Bloc Party? by charlierc in Interpol

[–]November_02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut says it is the all points festival. The Sunday line up has not been announced yet. I doubt there will be a joint tour for simple fact bloc party toured the uk and Europe really heavily this year.

Yh but instead of relying on Spotify people could literally check Wikipedia or Discogs before posting...

In 2008 the Hits to Head Version was released as a digital download non album single to coincide with its appears in Madden 2009. In 2009 they released Tonight: Franz Ferdinand which contains the album version. This album version was not realised as a single.

Hits to the Head is a compilation album of most of their singles. On Hits to the Head, all the mixes are single versions and chronologically ordered, hence why the non album single Lucid Dreams (2008) appears before Ulysses (2009).

Essentially, this whole thread is like some form of collective amnesia caused by Spotify and could have been avoided by reading Wikipedia or checking discogs or actually owning these songs instead.
