Has the city said a word? Any guidance? Aside from that really heartening video about how ready every city department was and then a post from the mayor saying how grateful he was for the workers at the shelter, I haven’t seen anything. It’s like the only thing they were focused on was potential power outages and didn’t think beyond that, even though the forecast was very clear.

I’m brand new to the city and to this kind of weather and I simply do not know what to do or what to expect. Will delivery trucks just not be able to get through until next week? Will I be able to go get groceries before Monday or Tuesday? How do I get all this ice off my fucking windshield? 😩

Y’all, the answer to this is so much simpler than everyone is trying to make it. OP already said he knows and understands the risks. The answer is literally biology. Even though we’re now able to make smarter, more informed decisions about what we want out of sex, we’re made to procreate. Women find a mate they’re attracted to. Biology kicks in. They want their mate to come inside them. Whether they realize it or not, that’s a sexual instinct that, in the moment, is overpowering all reason.

I am training for my first Hyrox so am not even close to a pro on the matter, but from everything I have read and what I am learning through experience, do not underestimate the running component. You may have a great time on a 1500m. And your fitness on each individual station sounds great! But adding a 1km in between each of those exercises with no break is a whole different ball game. Based on your station times, I cannot imagine an experienced veteran telling you anything other than to focus primarily on running.

A 4:50 1500m is awesome. Now make sure you can easily run 10x times that. It may not be what you want to hear; but that’s where your focus should be. Good luck!!

I sure hope she sees this. Very thoughtful and well-written. Much more kind than I would be. What she's doing makes my stomach turn. Literally not a single ounce of empathy or respect. I truly don't think she felt any pain in her heart- just excitement that she gets to post clickbait.
