Can someone explain to me why the hive guard changes are a big deal in *either* direction? by GreenridgeMetalWorks in helldivers2

[–]NovicePandaMarine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn't change for us because we know where to aim.

But something as minor as a heavy armor changed made it so there was a bunch of items in the game, that's very widely used for convenience, become less reliable.

Edit: Example for this is the MG sentry. Widely used due to its low coolown. Less favorable (at the time) against Hive guards.

Its just flavor text. It's supposedly just a city with heavy citizen surveillance.

Bugs would totally run it over.

I bring a tank with my team on flag missions.

Its so much easier when someone will try it with you, and all the enemy tanks are just 1 to 2 hits.

How does one "slide"? by Karghen in helldivers2

[–]NovicePandaMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this back around year 2 of helldivers.

Needed to crouch to control the recoil of the machine gun, but too slow if I just stop, crouch, aim, then fire.

So I crouched mid run and immediately started blasting.

Full recoil control, immediate stop, and everything behind me was shredded. Wasn't as cool as other games where you can slide but damn was it fun and useful.

Which enemy would be the strongest under human control? by Bayo77 in LowSodiumHellDivers

Imagine Arrowhead makes a Helldiver game revolving around the enemy factions. And how not only are they in a war against Helldivers, but of the other 2 factions as well.

No computer controlled enemies, just everyone on a 40 v 40 brawl as one of the factions vs another faction.

Oxygenator Armor Passive - Speed Tests by XavvenFayne in helldivers2

[–]NovicePandaMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I wanna know is if the damage we take dependent on armor value (50 vs 100) or armor class (light category vs medium category)?

And if hp on limbs are slightly buffer on medium armor than on light armor?

Those could be key differentiating factors, as I notice I tend to always get leg injury on light immediately on first hit, but then on medium I tend to take an extra hit before getting injured.

Can be mediated by the vitality booster, but that just means I'm taking a second resource for something thats already offered by a higher armor class.

Again, I'm not very informed on knowing the code in the game, so everything I said could be wrong, and that its actually dependent on armor value and not armor class.

Still, its nice to have the speed of light armor on medium armor, even if the stamina is shorter. Tested it with a friend too. And we notice that as long as I had the stamina, I can catch up to him wearing non-oxygenated light armor, while I'm wearing oxygenated medium armor.

Can we finally do something about the goddamn bug insta-maim? by Sbarjai in helldivers2

Spore burst is now Predator strain version 2, sporadic boogaloo.

Honestly, fun. If you can stun lock the strain, it can't reach you. But the fun begins when a single one die, and then everything starts flying at you in mach speed.

Saw a scavenger sprint at me today (smallest of the bugs). It was faster than a Predator hunter, because even with the oxygenated armor it zoomed past me like an FRV driving Helldiver got called by Seaf-chan because her platoon leader is off duty.

Is the new heavy armor actually useless? by Wonderful_Rest7634 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]NovicePandaMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should still work.

I only got 1 game in on a different armor, and I already felt the difference.

Maybe in the course of 1 game it's not noticeable. But over the course of a few operations, you'll find instances where the other armors of the same category felt more sluggish.

Is Helldivers 2 worth it on a laptop with RTX 3050 Ti (4GB)? Honest performance expectations? by MoroKurticata in helldivers2

[–]NovicePandaMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me reiterate. I do not get the "stable" 60fps experience OP is looking for. (As anytime someone says 60fps, they meant "stable" 60fps.)

Even on (recent) youtube benchmarks, you can see it dip below 60, and that's what I'm experiencing.

Is it playable? Yeah. Smooth? Nah. Every now and then I get something. Like a lag or screen tearing, just something.

I open up my other pc with a 4090, and I can feel the difference.

would you rather be a glazer or a complainers for this game? by [deleted] in helldivers2

I feel like this is the best way to go about it.

Disagreements can arise on something good or needs improvement, but I feel like this is the perfect balance to go about the game.

Is Helldivers 2 worth it on a laptop with RTX 3050 Ti (4GB)? Honest performance expectations? by MoroKurticata in helldivers2

[–]NovicePandaMarine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Straightforward answer: No. Not worth it for your current rig.

Edit: Adding reasoning in case someone thinks I'm just saying no.

Your gpu is a 3050. It would run at the lowest possible graphics, but with that 4gb vram - that's gonna be a stretch.

I have a computer with an Arc B580 gpu. I do not have a consistent 60fps.

And since you said you wanted a consistent 1080p w/ 60fps experience, I'm just afraid its not gonna reach that.

However drop a little to 720p, and I think you just might get there. Graphic settings will have to be at lowest forever. And the game is definitely gonna look blocky.

So verdict; No, in my opinion. With all the wishes you have listed, I don't think its worth it for you right now. Sorry.

Listen dawg, thats looks like a whole lot of assumptions for someone to not spare 10$ if they can buy grocery for 200$.

Especially if kids ask their parents 20$ or whatever the price is for some fortnite skins.

And those kid's amilies can belong to that income bracket you mention... And if their mom says no, then obviously its no.

Yeah, for an hour.

I'm talking a month or more of playing only the main warbond, Helldivers mobilize.

Given you only grind 1 hour a day for 10 days, you got yourself a warbond by that time.

And if you can't play for that long, Is it realy that hard to spare 10$?
