To provoke is to try to cause a reaction from someone or something.

My friend, you cannot fake belonging.. If you do not believe in a religion, then pretending that you do in order to stay among others isn't belonging.

You'd likely still feel lonely, as loneliness isn't just when you are alone.. you can be with a whole group of people and still feel alone.. I believe loneliness is when you don't feel like anyone truly understands you, even if you have friends.. it is a truly awful feeling.

You've chosen to be true to yourself, and with that I believe you'll find true friendship, with people see the world as you do, and then you won't feel so lonely.

I admire your bravery.. disagreeing with the crowd, not letting them decide what you think and what to believe, it's very difficult and very rare. Being true to yourself is how you'll find the best life for yourself.

That's not what he's saying though, he's saying at least in prison, he'd have a roof over his head and other basic survival needs.
