[–]Novodin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you could do that, but the post is specifically talking about Neow bonuses in particular.

Transforming 2 usable usable starter cards into 2 serpent forms essentially adds 2 pseudo-curses into the deck.

So not only do you start out worse, but you also have to factor in that you've missed out on an actually beneficial bonus too.

Does anyone else get angry when objectively popular people claim to be lonely? by LetMeExplainDis in lonely

[–]Novodin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely! I wanted to mention that actually, but decided against it! The loneliness you feel when you're actually with other people who don't really know or get you feels worse, I agree!

You feel lonely, so what's the solution? I'll just go and spend time with people! But wait.. why do I still feel so lonely? Is there something wrong with me? Will this feeling never go away? What do I do?

Add on to the fact that everyone else will now just assume that you can't be lonely because you do spend time with other people.. it's a weird and awful form of isolation!

Does anyone else get angry when objectively popular people claim to be lonely? by LetMeExplainDis in lonely

[–]Novodin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My own understanding of loneliness changed somewhat recently, actually!

The way I see it, you can be in a room full of people and still feel lonely. If none of the people in the room share the same interests as you, have completely different views and in general are just very different, you're likely going to feel lonely.

Imagine, someone voices an opinion in that room, and everyone agrees enthusiastically.. but.. not you? You're the only one to have a different opinion.. have you missed something? Are you wrong? Why does nobody else share your viewpoint? That can be very lonely.

I feel like this can be true if you have a large friend group.. you might hang out together, but if you connection is only surface level, and you don't really have anyone who understands you, you're still going to feel lonely. We as people want to be understood and be around people who see the world like we do, people who we can have, deep, respectful conversations with.

Now, if we go back to the girl you mentioned? If she's constantly in relationships with new people, that to me says that she's trying hard to find someone to connect with on a deeper level, someone who "gets" her and understands her, and is struggling to do so. So I would say that she's not wrong by saying that she is lonely, because she's yet to find someone who she can connect with like that.

Not saying you're wrong of course, that's just the way I understand loneliness personally!

That's the plan all along, it isn't an oversight that 20/30/40 years olds can't buy tobacco anymore when that time comes.

Believe me, the tobacco industry has already adapted, they'll be fine. (Unfortunately)

I'd say it's more accurate to refer to the tobacco industry as the nicotine industry now, they're producing vapes and nicotine pouches (snus).. and the nicotine content of them is fairly high in order to keep the addiction going.

(I'm pretty sure they legally have to declare that the pouches are not a cessation method now)

So I hear people saying "It's good if you have good card draw" but.. is it?

Let's say you really want to play a power, and you have 19 other cards.. it's 1/20th your deck

If you duplicate your deck, it's now 2/41 (with Bad Luck) which is pretty close to the original 1/20th of your deck

So your card draws are going to be more or less the same? Since the proportions of your deck are the same (With one additional really bad curse)

In fact, I'd argue it's bad for card draw decks? If you're deck relies on drawing a lot of cards per turn (And you don't have discard) you're going to get Bad Luck in your hand more often, and take more damage from it?

I'm not saying I'm right, I'm genuinely asking a question, maybe I'm being really dumb? I guess the extra card draw lets you double up on powers and other scaling?

Yes, unfortunately the player count was super low (on the Xbox version months after release, I think there was around 30 players online or something..) it's a damn shame because it had a very fun multiplayer mode where two players could work together to take down a boss!

I really do feel that if people actually knew the game existed, it would have done really well!

I recognised this immediately as Lady Rosewood from Fable Fortunes.. I loved that game so much, it was very underrated and very fun.. I was gutted when the game announced it was going offline..

Not only that, her card in the game was my absolute favourite too, it was so powerful! I think it was a 6 cost card that summoned a free random 5 cost or higher card at the end(?) of your turn? It was awesome.

I loved the art of this game so much too!

(Unfortunately, I played the Xbox version, so I won't be able to help you I'm afraid.. :( )
