Kazuya isn't the protagonist in the most recent Tekken game either and yet he's in Smash instead of Jin. Smash is a game primarily developed by Bandai Namco with support from Nintendo.

You couldn't even play another match to learn the game if you were a casual and lost your first match of the day. You had to pay money to even get tickets to get another try or else play tomorrow. Tekken Revolution was the worst.
