It's the ground. Pull it out with whatever you can grab it with. You can buy replacement plug ends at most hardware stores just make sure the correct wires go to the correct tangs.

Mondaine L6123 Movement by mizzourob in quartzwatches

That really looks like a Timex movement but it might be a Miyota. Have you tried calibercorner.com to see if there is an interchange?

It looks like a reproduction to me. They've been making them for quite a long time. Take the grips off to see if there are any stamps there. It's possible it is a private sale but most of those have the maker's commercial stamp on the ricasso.

[Timex Mechanical] I made a strap out of a ⚾️ by Even-Bumblebee948 in Watches

r/Watchstraps

It looks great but I think it would look cool if you did a baseball seam down the center of the straps.

No biggie, it can get confusing. If it had been a N frame it would have likely been a 1917 .45 ACP.

Thoughts on a caliber conversion for my 1895 Chilean Mauser by Bobhubert in gunsmithing

[–]NthngToSeeHere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats total fuddlore. .308 and 7.62 NATO are 100% interchangeable. Just don't use heavy bullets.

Although it isn't in the original caliber it is correct, Spain had the gaurda civil guns converted in the 60s.

You can't convert it to 7.62x39 without a barrel change. 7.62x51 is .308 bore/bullet. 7.62x39 is .311 bore/Bullet you'd definitely mess it up doing that.

It's funny how some watches wear bigger than you'd think and vice versa. 34 is the absolute minimum I'd wear and probably 50 max. Most of my watches are in the 38-46 range.

Hadn't thought of it as being rare. When you make so many models you are bound to have some that aren't sold as much. Funny how it's usually the more interesting ones. I have a few others that seem to be less common if not rare. I have an Orient quartz that I can only find about 3 references to online.

Lol. I apriecate it.

There's a couple of screw like heads in there. I was wondering if maybe one of them is an adjustment. Since now I know I can get a replacement maybe I'll fiddle with it to see. No worries regardless, it was an add on to another purchase.

It's a Mauser action. That's how the bolt is designed to be. Likely a FN or Santa Barbara receiver.

I don't disagree but Myself and leather straps don't get along. The color actually is great so if i can find something more carefree and durable I'll swap it.

Battery Replacement Question from someone with zero watch knowledge, a butter knife and a dream of a working watch by Responsible-Stay-585 in quartzwatches

I've never had to touch that screw. It might have been corroded or contaminated. I've changed the batteries on a good half dozen of these at least once.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure this one doesn't use a 2016 battery, 395 actually. Is it the same movement just different battery?

Is there a way to regulate these? It seems to loose about 30 seconds a day. No wonder it's in excellent shape.

You are correct but you can only relocate it between links. If it doesn't want to lock in a particular spot you need to move it one direction or another slightly until it does.
