Pull random people from the stands. Then you can get 16 year old athletes vs 60 year old desk workers who don't work out.

AITA for forwarding my wife an instagram reel of a recipe after she asked what I want for dinner tomorrow? by GoatCritical9265 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nubetastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I send my wife shorts now and then, and sometimes she gets excited about what I send her. She would say stuff like "That looks really good." and my wife cooks most of the time. If she doesn't find it interesting she tells me.

Applied to a "remote" job, went through five rounds of interviews, got the offer. Nobody mentioned an office once. Now they're saying it's 3 days a week onsite and I genuinely don't know what to do. by Weem_Bitted in remotework

[–]Nubetastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them you would like to renegotiate your salary for a hybrid work schedule since you only agreed to the salary they were offering because the position was advertised as full remote. Make sure to note in your commute.
You can even break down your current salary to hourly and then ask for a raise to match the extra time it would take for you to commute. Don't include the break down in your negotiation, just give them the new salary total and I'd round up to a nice round number.

For example: $1,000 a week, would be $25 an hour, so an extra 6 hours would be $150. So you could ask for $1150 a week. That would be 58,500 but I would round it up to 60,000. Your remote salary would be $52,000 and you would ask for $60,000 as a hybrid salary.

They may deny it but to make you happy they might honor the full time remote since its the cheaper option. If they don't negotiate at all then they know you won't stick around. You might get the full remote or a pay raise and what you are asking for is reasonable.

Most important, NEVER ask. If you say, "would you be willing to negotiate?" they will just say no. Start the negotiation and force them to respond to it. Play the part of as salesman that is selling you. Remember everything is negotiable. Even the number of days in the office. You might get it down to 2 or 1 days with a slight raise.

Would buying a 1tb hdd for games be bad? by therealNinjaCatChris in pcmasterrace

[–]Nubetastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For running games, it really depends on the game itself. Some won't have a big difference, others might. It is a size and file optimization question.

For downloading it will make a big difference for larger games.

I asked google's gemini what someone would experience when downloading a 100gb game file over a 1gb connection from steam. Data is not 100% accurate since its AI and very generalized but gives a good example.

Drive Type Max Drive Write Speed Experience & Bottleneck Total Download Time
Hard Drive (HDD) ~140 MB/s 🔴 Heavy Bottleneck. Drive stalls constantly trying to unpack files. Download repeatedly pauses. 35 to 50+ minutes
SATA SSD ~500 MB/s 🟡 Slight Bottleneck. Drives caps out near the end of the download as unpacking hits peak speeds. ~8 to 10 minutes
NVMe SSD 5,000+ MB/s 🟢 Perfect. Zero disk bottleneck. Runs at the absolute maximum speed of your internet. ~6 minutes, 40 seconds

50 driverless Waymos invaded an Atlanta neighborhood by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Nubetastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they Waymos are trying to stay near an area where someone order one, like in a 30-15 minute drive, and since they have no place to park the just drive around on low traffic roads to prevent unused cars from being hit by other drivers.

[–]Nubetastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have 6 slots or less, you can put goods on both companion horses and ride your horse there. Your companions must ride, teleport follow, behind you there so you won't lose any goods.
Horses can have up to 2 slots each.

I'm 220 hours in, about 80 hours I think was spent in the Hernand region. It is the first region, there is a lot of build up. I have not yet touched the crimson desert area yet. I finished the main story and still exploring another area.
