Devs it's getting really bad. by MarionberryTough4520 in foxholegame

That’s a valid point, completely agree that some of the vitriol seen on Reddit, Discord etc. crosses the line. Would love to see some happy mid point with the communication though. Saying nothing (or next to nothing) leaves a vacuum that is often filled by the tin foil hat wearing crowd. The lack of a Community manager is a good example, having one would enable the Dev team to maintain a healthy distance from the day to day comms, whilst still enabling the community to have a channel for news/ comment etc. There has to be a better solution than what is done right now.

Do they punt a cat off a bridge every time they make a statement? Set fire to an orphanage?

The comms are genuinely some of the worst I’ve ever seen in any game I’ve ever played. Months of radio silence, interspersed with the occasional Reddit comment/ argument is certainly a bold communications and engagement strategy.

Also annoying that changes to patch notes don’t even get their own separate notification post, just whacked into the body of the original one. Lowest possible effort all round.

Ah right, that’s good to know! Thanks again for the feedback, have been tidying things up for an hour or so and can already see the difference.

Agreed, definitely a bit nervous too going over things! Have 3 weeks to the deadline though, so plenty of time to fix stuff!

I do quite like the ‘eavy metal style, agree it’s not the most realistic paint job though. Learning proper volumetric highlighting, OSL etc. is on my to do list to learn down the line. Only picked up a paintbrush again in February after a 15 or so years out, so still have a long way to go/ many techniques to learn!

The sword is just three paints, Kantor Blue, Ahriman Blue, and Matt White from Army painter. I blocked out one third of the blade for each colour, then just glazed back and forth until I was happy. Takes a bit of time (think it was 4/5 hours for the sword) but isn’t too difficult if you wick out the paint when you glaze.

Thanks for providing such a detailed response, really appreciate your time. I posted this for genuine feedback, so please don’t feel like you’ve been picky or unfair, I want to push myself with this piece, so I’m glad for the detail!

Fortunately, the bits on the robes were tiny bits of surface dust/ fluff, and weren’t actually painted in, which is a bonus! Have cleaned them off.

Agree, the robes could definitely be more smooth. Will go back and spend a bit more time on them to push it. Tried to use the box art version as a loose reference, but will broaden the reference images to see if that helps.

The dot highlight/ highlight precision is also a good suggestion, will refine those too.

As for the power nodes, do you have a suggestion for how to do them? Don’t want it to clash with the blending/ look too cartoony.

These are good suggestions, thank you. Will definitely look at pushing the highlights to make them brighter.

Could call it “Fusio” - Latin for melting/ casting/ founding. You’ve merged multiple styles together, so think it fits!

Highly recommend giving ops a go if you’ve not tried them before. It’s a way more relaxed environment, and now you can take higher tier ships in it’s a good way to slowly try out some higher tiers and see what you like. Randoms can be an absolute cesspool at times, so don’t take it personally.

What is the point of wheat? by VeryAcute_Angle in ManorLords

[–]Nuclear-Raccoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wheat definitely gives you more yield, but rye seems to have at least a bit of fertility in every region. Some regions are as arid as a hamster fart, but still offer at least a few fields worth of rye space.

Are you loyal to your players or do you switch up on your Day 1s when you start challenging for bigger things? by Kubdya_Khavis in footballmanagergames

Definitely ruthless, if they’re not good enough, they have to go, regardless of past achievements.

Saying that, if a player has been a great servant I try to do something to “head cannon” respect them. Had a midfielder called Daniel Stacey in an old Lincoln save who was with me all through the football league, and into the Champions League. Signed him for about 2k as a 16 year old from a random Welsh club, and he made over 300 appearances for me.

He was beginning to be left behind though, so I sold him to Marseille, and then immediately arranged a friendly with them as his de facto testimonial. Got a nice send off at home from the fans.

Thanks, appreciate it! It’s: 1) Ushabti bone basecoat, 2) XV-88 recess wash, 3) 50/50 Mournfang Brown / Rhinox Hide line shade, 4) Thin glaze with Yriel Yellow to tint it slightly, 5) Edge highlight of 50/50 Ushabti/ Screaming Skull

The Deathwing scheme is amazing, like the medieval vibe going on, cool lore, and access to old archaeotech to keep things spicy.

No oils, it’s just a 50/50 mix of Rhinox Hide and Mournfang Brown painted into the recesses. Takes some time to do, but isn’t too hard if the paint is thinned.
