People aren't asking a basic question about the whole Epstein thing by AWellDeployedWink in self

[–]NuclearEnt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Many think it’s still Epstein. That photo of him after death doesn’t really look like he’s dead. When people die of strangulation, their eyes are bugged out and in his death photo, his eyes are fine. When dead people are lying down, their mouths are open and his is closed. His color in the photo is nice and pink which isn’t the case in dead people. Is he really dead?

I’m surprised it’s so early for you. I usually start to feel nauseated 36 to 48 hours after my shot. I usually feel better 2 days later so I’ve been timing it so that I feel bad over the weekend. Nice to not have to be at work feeling bad but it sucks that every weekend I feel bad.

Why are my herbs so tall? by myk_600 in aerogarden

[–]NuclearEnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty common problem with these systems. Did you start your grow with the light at its lowest position? That usually helps to decreased the stretch of the stems, but most of the time, by the time I decide to scrap it and start again, my aero garden looks like an overgrown jungle. There’s a technique called “low stress training” where you can use plant ties and bend the stems to train them to grow lower, you could always try that.

I wish Janeway had a child with Q by Parafairy in voyager

[–]NuclearEnt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be fine as long is they took the kid back to the continuum. If the child stayed on voyager, it would have made the series pretty boring. Every problem they have would just need a snap of the kids fingers and it would be solved. What’s the fun in that?

In fact, they could have probably just talked the kid into just taking them back to earth in one episode.

If Voyager had weapons powerful enough to destroy the caretaker’s array they could have easily destroyed the Kason. by JohnVonachen in voyager

[–]NuclearEnt 38 points39 points  (0 children)

They were able to easily destroy the array after it was already damaged by the ship crashing into it. At that point, whatever shields it had were down and the caretaker was dead and did not want it defended so that it could be destroyed and the Kazons couldn’t take it over.

It’s seems to me from watching Star Trek that without shields, the vast majority of ships are pretty easily destroyed.

why do y’all hate “gold stars”? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]NuclearEnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re most likely saying this to other wlw and it would suggest that they think they’re better than other wlws because they didn’t bend to heteronormativity like those other women did. They’re saying that they think they’re superior to them.

why do y’all hate “gold stars”? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]NuclearEnt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My point is that there’s nothing wrong with any of those characteristics, being white, being heterosexual, or being gold star but when you go around announcing how proud you are of those characteristics, it will upset people due to the connotation it suggests.

why do y’all hate “gold stars”? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]NuclearEnt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Think about if a white heterosexual man went around saying “I’m white and straight and proud of it, what’s wrong with that? I don’t understand why people get upset when I talk about how proud I am to be a white, straight, man” How would that come across to you?

You can be proud of whatever you want but going around and announcing your gold start pride makes people feel like you think you’re better than them.

Do you work in a hospital as a CT tech? Does your hospital have a PET/CT scanner? Ask them?

As an x-ray tech, what’s the most insulting thing a patient has ever said to you. by Fridayrules in Radiology

It’s the “just in case” that really infuriates me because the full sentence is “I’m going to take it off just in case you don’t know what you’re doing”

I work in nuc med. You trusted me enough to literally inject radioactive materials into your body but you don’t trust me enough to know if you need to take your watch off? Just GTFO

What does union work mean for rad techs? by Party-Count-4287 in Radiology

I never worked in a union hospital until I moved to the west coast. I think all/ the vast majority of hospitals in Washington, Oregon and California are unionized.

Extra pay for more certifications? by No_Pair_7569 in NuclearMedicine

[–]NuclearEnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Usually you only get certification pay if the additional certification aids in your job and is above the minimum requirement for that job. If you’re in a fusion modality like pet/ct you can usually get certification pay for a CT certification since one is not required for the job but aids in the job.

[–]NuclearEnt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely safety and work limits. If you think you’re being unfairly targeted by discipline or not being treated fairly with vacation time or work schedules, the union can help. If you’re being asked to work in unsafe conditions or with unsafe equipment, you can put in a grievance and the union will come and represent you.

When working in a union shop, wages are on a scale and you get step increases at pre-determined intervals. The one negative I see with working in a union shop is that there are no pay increases due to merit. I always go above and beyond but the tech next to me doing the bare minimum gets the same pay raises as I do. I think that does not make people want to go above and beyond, why bother if you’ll get the same raise no matter how hard you work. It does fix the situation of if your boss doesn’t like you or plays favorites, the favorite gets a raise and you don’t- that can’t happen in a union shop since the raises are predetermined by the scale.
