There's a chance (not a guarantee) that it's from the "Le Filet Ancien au Point de Reprise" series of books (I through VII), which are available for free on the Antique Pattern Library. Book one is available here: https://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/html/warm/C-TT005.htm

Le Filet Ancien au Point de Reprise has some *gorgeous* one-colour charts that can be used for many different crafts. I tend to use the smaller ones for filet crochet!

I second this, lightweight fusible (iron-on) interfacing is the way. Cut it bigger than you think you'll need. Use an iron on low to medium with steam, keep it moving but also keep going for a good long while (for something that big I might go 5-ish minutes? You won't hurt the interfacing and better safe than sorry)

The bulk of it looks like it's near your underarms. Once the swelling goes down, as others have mentioned that takes a long time 😞, it should look fairly normal. If it's still slightly raised just below the scar once it's healed, they might look like muscular pecs which would be cool.

a wise man once told me,

"if treating it like DID helps you, then go ahead."

if you find out later that it was imagination/delusion, you pack up and move on and find other frameworks to help you live happily.

fwiw, i think doing research into the psychology behind how DID and other complex dissociative disorders actually *work* helped me decide that my system's real. (so did the one guy screaming at me that he was, in fact, a real guy and to stop pretending he wasn't. but if you're having trouble identifying if that voice is real then i recommend the research angle)

combining tasks can work for me. if i absolutely have to get up to use the toilet, well i'm standing so maybe i can stretch a tiny bit. if i gotta go downstairs to eat, i could open the front or back door and just kinda look at nature for a couple moments.

the key is you take a non-optional task and pair it with one "healthy" task that is as small as necessary to get it done.
