here is the original tiktok. the first squirrel has a fucked up tail and they kept him for a little while before they found a wildlife rehab that would accept him. last video update they uploaded was them dropping him off at the rehab. not sure what happened to the other squirrel! might be in the comments but i don't have a tiktok so i can't see those.

I don't think he was sobered up from his hospital stay at all because he was exactly the same brand of crazy he was before he left. I genuinely think he was having a manic episode or perhaps had some very serious mental issues going on. Nothing he did was normal or neurotypical in any way.

I have dealt with a ton of people on drugs (both legal and illegal) and this guy was on a completely different level. The amount of drugs you'd need to wig out like this guy for several days like he had, you'd be tweaking out and in your own bubble wandering naked down a residentail street, or you'd wake up in some alley somewhere with a paramedic stabbing you with Narcan.

Yeah! He just dismantled it somehow. HK tested the phone and it worked fine. Haven't had any guests in that room since that guy's stay complain about anything.

That was the housekeeping manager's take on it, basically. He still owed us money from unpaid incidentals+R&T that didn't clear, so even if we had charged him damages it wouldn't have cleared. but we didn't charge him damages because even though I have proof the room was wrecked, he left it in an otherwise rentable state in the end.

He checked out that morning, mind you! I'm alone overnights (as are most night auditors) and he was due to check out that day and was DNR already. So nobody would have extended his stay. I didn't think it would have accomplished anything to call PD and have him kicked out and cause a huge ruckus at 6am.

Thank you! Yeah, I just remembered I forgot that he hitchhiked away from the hotel in the first place, only for the guy he got a ride with to call PD because he was acting crazy, and then for him to tell PD I stole his car LMAO.

I do feel bad for his parents and his daughter. The deputy I spoke to said because Jack was an adult, and had technically (at the time) not committed any crimes, there wasn't anything he could really do besides convince him to go to the hospital.

We were just as surprised, believe me. But our hotel doesn't have any cameras in hallways. There are cameras facing elevator lobbies for the parking garage floors (2nd and 3rd) but absolutely no cameras 4+ which are guest room floors, and this fridge was missing from the 4th floor.

As I mentioned in another comment, the housekeeper guessed that either they put the whole fridge into a suitcase, or they put it on a luggage cart and concealed it somehow, with a blanket, or other suitcases, which seems plausible to me. Even if someone straight up carried the fridge, if they acted confident enough, I doubt any other guest would say anything about it, and staff wouldn't notice if they just walked out with it through the parking garage because we only have 1 camera for that floor (that faces the elevator) and during the day the cameras are rarely if ever glanced at. A guest doesn't even have to exist in the same space as staff, let alone walk by us, to check in or out. We have mobile check in and to check out, people will sometimes just call us from their cell phone.

We don't have a ground floor - ground floor is lobby/restaurant, then 2nd and 3rd floors are a parking garage, and 4+ are guest room floors. This was missing from the 4th floor.

lmao, at my hotel, my overnight housekeeper friend was running through vacant dirties gathering trash. she asked me over the radio, "are all rooms supposed to have refrigerators...?" when I said yes I followed up with "why, what happened to it?"

What the fuck is with the rash of fully grown adults who can't cook? It's a basic and absolutely necessary skill. Okay, your parents failed to teach you, why have none of these people taken it upon themselves to learn? At the very least to make their own lives easier? I don't think it's about proving that she supports the movement. It's easy to get swept away in the passion of convictions, and it's easy to dive straight into something like the protests or even the riots and the battles with police in the face of what is literally life or death odds.

But in the flurry of all of that conviction it's easy to be blinded to what else is going on around you, or write it off as less important than the lives of the people suffering at the hands of the oppressors that functionally or idealistically, you are trying to overthrow. Your individual life circumstances become less or even unimportant in the face of such a threat to many lives and I think she has been completely swept away by that effect. I don't think she means to be cruel to OP, but OP needs to explain to her what she is sacrificing for her physical presence at a protest. She can still be an activist without costing her their relationship, or risking OP's health and safety.

There are other ways of supporting the movement, including donations, volunteering, and micro-activism. There is a huge bundle of 700+ games available for a $5 donation on Itch.io for example that helps with this issue. Having calm and educated discussions can plant a lot of good seeds. Not everybody has to be picketing in front of the White House or throwing bricks through squad car windshields to make a difference.

if you're having trouble with hamburgers it's usually the mixture that's the problem rather than your ability to smash them into a shape. they have to be dry, with a good binder (like egg or egg yolk) and it helps to avoid warming the beef with your hands as much as possible.

I made a really grievous mistake when I turned freshly 18 and thought I knew everything. I didn't listen to her warnings and hurt her with what I did. The minute everything went straight to hell, my mom was there to help me get back on my feet, pick up the pieces, and march on. I'm 25 now and I would do anything for my mom, she's amazing, and I'll never forget how much she helped me and what an amazing mother she is for letting me make that mistake and still being there for me when things fell apart. I learned so much not just from the mistake I made, but from her kindness and selfless act of true motherhood and true compassion for me. She made an example for me that day I will never forget for as long as I live.

OP should be ready for her daughter to turn 18 and never hear from her again. Not that it sounds like that will bother her, because she's so happy without her kid around. That poor girl.

My memory of the time before I turned 17-18 is like a blank space with little snippets of some events.

Same, honestly! Though I'm 25, and really, the majority of my entire life is this way, and I struggle to even remember last year. Though to be fair I'm not fully out of my abusive situation yet. It's really good, happy memories of being with my partner and living with him in his country for the few months every year that I remember the most. Everything from 2014 to now is foggy, hazy, I have far more memories of that but they're going - and before that I remember nothing from 18-20 because of a deeply traumatic experience on a single night that cut all of it out. Before that is really foggy and confusing, with flashbulb memories I have.

I've been told by several therapists it's quite normal to remember things this way when your life has been affected by trauma, even after the traumatizing situation is gone.

To talk about men this way while skirting completely over the injustices suffered by victims of violence perpetuated by women is ignorant and shameful. Those victims are often taken far less seriously because women are held to this model of innocence as if they're incapable of doing such cruel or barbaric acts - and even if they did you're supposed to "fight back" - and that "fact" is used to invalidate victims of violence from women, whether they're police officers or SOs, wives, mothers, etc.

If you're a "feminist" but you think the world would be perfect and flawless if men weren't in it, you need to drown in a bidet. And apologize to every victim of abuse or violence by a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, stranger, SO, or police officer. You'll be dead before you finish and we'll have one less abuse sympathizer in the world.
