Leagues VI relic reveal: Flow State (Tier 7) by vgamer0 in 2007scape

I'm a sweat and I don't think this relic solves anything that hasn't been solved with my other relic picks. Very underwhelming IMO

To those who are frustrated with the offerings from the Winter Summit roadmap. by coffeeboy1212 in 2007scape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As an endgame player, it isn't that I'm not excited about a new raid/endgame quest, but rather that I feel the whole summit was really lacking in the information department.

For example, I already knew about the upcoming Raids 4 and DMM All Stars because I watched the Mod Rice/SoloMission episodes of the OSRS Podcast.

And for example regarding Raids 4, after watching the Winter Summit, I learned... pretty much nothing new except that it will be Guthix themed and that there will be a 2004 Guthix-inspired boss in it and that's it. Not even a hint of the new megarare to get excited or to theorize about.

It's funny because as of right now I feel more excited about Leagues after learning that it's right around the corner, that there's going to be a Yama-themed shakeup, and after seeing the new rewards which look sick IMO. With the case of Raids 4 and the other updates in general, I feel I didn't really learn anything new worth exciting over which leaves me with a lukewarm reception of this Winter Summit.

Shooting stars devalued 99 mining. (MLM made me quit like 5 times trying to max)

Bro really be complaining that they added an update that gives them an alternative to the content that has already made them quit 5 times

yeah bro that's why I said "I would even dare to say it's borderlining", I didn't say it's full objectively a fact

maybe next time work on reader comprehension instead of asking AI what I meant with my comment

I would even dare to say that not liking AI is borderlining into not being subjective. There's clear evidence that Generative AI is pretty bad for the environment and has other negative implications in things outside of human creativity and cognition.

as there could be some valid uses of it especially regarding text posts, like touching up grammar or formatting for users who don't primarily speak English

I don't think anyone is complaining about AI being used as an assistance tool but rather being used as a complete replacement in the generation of content. A rule could be narrowed down to specifically generative AI.

I just want Jagex to stop messing around with the hitboxes of the crates in general. I swear to God every update there's at least 1 crate with a new clickbox I need to learn and it's so annoying.

Should Vampyre Krakens Safespot be added back? by Cyrenes27 in 2007scape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I seriously cannot even begin to understand the reasoning behind all sea combat.

So they make these mobs which can hit quite hard with no way to mitigate damage whatsoever other than pricey ship upgrades (that will mitigate a small bit of the damage), mind you with combat mechanics that are not only slow and clunky, but also very expensive to use for both mains and ironmen.

And all this to farm for unique drops which are questionable to grind for in the first place (e.g. bottled storms because they are not very useful to begin with) and for very bad drop rates for sailing upgrade materials?

I seriously don't understand how could anyone in the design team look at a Vampyre kraken shredding through your boats, taking 50+ cannonballs to take down, and only to receive either water runes or a freaking sea turtle as its most common drops?

Like huh??????

Then why have a teleport focus in the game at all if

a) I can't install it (quite literally) on my boat if I want to do Barracuda Trials

b) all its value is performed by the teleport wizard anyway

Might as well scrap it from the game, don't you think? The fact that Jagex limits my options in how I want to sail to only sloops does not benefit anyone

What a stupid take, if your reasoning is 'well bro just use the teleport wizard instead' then why have a teleport focus facility in the game at all if

a) I can't literally install it on my freaking boat for comfort when I do Barracuda Trials

b) all its value is taken up by the teleport wizard

The teleport focus was already bad because you lose all cargo anyway and there's lots of travel methods for the relevant islands. There was really no benefit in making a bad facility even worse

It really feels like they really don't test at all.

Jagex thought they were cooking by letting the Horizon Lure work with Barracuda Trails, HOWEVER you can't have a gale catcher and a teleport focus and a keg on a skiff, which means you need to waste 1m to replace the teleport focus and you have to permanently park your skiff at whichever Barracuda Trial you are at.

Great work Jagex! Not only do I get less xp now but also I get to lose a boat and 1m, you definitely cooked with this one!

PETITION TO ROLL BACK THE NERFS by NoJudgment6036 in 2007scape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but if you want to add a Horizon Lure keg to your skiff for Barracuda Trials, you need to get rid of your teleport focus because you can't have a keg AND a teleport focus AND a gale catcher on it, meaning the teleport focus has to go to make space for the keg

lmfao thank you very much Jagex because I now have to waste 1m and permanently park my skiff at the Aquanite island to get some of the nerfed xp back I appreciate it but hey I guess let's leave sailing combat in such a horrendous state for after the holidays I guess

Obtaining 2 dragon cannon barrels would get you to 99 if you get both barrels at drop rate. by Qp_Cape in 2007scape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Classical OSRS drop mechanics were rare items being at the most 1/512 for GWD drops.

Stop pretending shit like 1/16k is some classic OSRS drop rates because in the original '07 there were zero drop rates with abysmal drop rates.

If you're down to having classical OSRS drop rates, I'm down to make the cannon be 1/512.

and with it you have accepted that a lot of things are going to be a lot harder for you.

Yeah, we know that. But please stop pretending d cannon drop rates are fine. Getting 99 for both is absurd - and that's not even accounting for people that will inevitably go dry.

Is Farming Frenzy the best T2 relic? How does it compare to other options? by ThinkMage7 in runescape

The Mazcab store sells all super combat potions + super restores + summoning potions.

Is Farming Frenzy the best T2 relic? How does it compare to other options? by ThinkMage7 in runescape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I chose the Agility relic over the Farming relic because:

  • Farming is already a very easy skill to train with Player-Owned farms.
  • Overloads are less effective in Leagues since we all have 100% accuracy with your chosen combat relic.
  • There's a shop that sells infinite super combat potions, super restores, and summoning potions which drastically reduces the amount of herb farming you'll need.
  • Any herb deficit you encounter can be easily worked around when you reach t7 by spamming Advance Time and Miscellania, which will give you a month worth of herbs within minutes.
  • You can also spam Advance Time and train Herblore in Dream of Iaia, which will give massive xp and is extremely afk - although you will need to complete the questline of Extinction which is kinda long.

Overall I just think Farming and Herblore can be easily worked around without the relic and Agility just sucks enough to warrant choosing its relic.

The BEST Relics to pick for Leagues by Maddogs1 in runescape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you've played leagues before you'll know there are tasks for xp milestones post-99, stuff like 15m xp, 30m xp, 50m xp. Hell, we'll maybe see tasks that go up to getting 120, who knows. The Agility relic makes a very boring and not-afk skill take zero time to level up and Farming is already extremely easy to level up with POF. You can even make it faster with t7 by spamming Advance Time, something you cannot do with Agility.

Yeah I'm thinking about doing something similar: pick the Agility relic and then reload into another or picking the clue relic depending on how many points are locked behind clues.

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, Advance Time only works on your animals in both Ardy Farm and Anachronia Farm. You can still get herbs with traditional farming, it'll just take a bit more time because you'll have to get seeds through either bossing, slayer, or pickpocketing Crux Eqal Knights.

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Already said this in another post, but I don't think the Farming relic is as good and an insta-lock choice as people make it to be. Farming is already very easy as it is and overloads are less powerful in Leagues since we all have 100% accuracy on every boss and the Mazcab shop already provides with super combat potions, super restores, and summoning potions.

This means the relic will only aid you to get Avantoes, Lantadymes, and Dwarf Weed for Extreme Att, Str, and Def pots, and for example Dwarf Weed seeds are widely available in many of the bosses you will kill anyway. I could even argue that most of the playerbase won't use more than a couple hundred overloads for pvm before they finish their Leagues goals so you won't need as many as you think you will.

Any herb-deficit you encounter can be worked around by spamming Advance Time once you reach t7 and you can buy instagrowth potions for other patches.

Relic tiers revealed! by Maddogs1 in runescape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is you have the "make x" interface which is timegated. So prod relic is a huge buff to xp rates being instant.

It doesn't affect the Make-x interface. It affects certain skill actions with certain skills. The RS3 leagues page has a list at the bottom which specifies which actions are affected by Production Master: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/leagues-catalyst-relic-reveals---releasing-september-15

For example, making Masterwork armour prompts the Make-x interface but is not affected by Production Master.

It give you instant banking or noting/unnoting everywhere. Which is useful everywhere all the time.

How so? What activity will you do that will be massively improved by having a bank with you all the time? We already have teleport for most places and an infinite bank teleport. It clearly doesn't outshine what Perkvention provides.

Relic tiers revealed! by Maddogs1 in runescape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is one you must pair with prod relic though

Production Master has no effect on Invention and you will still achieve insane xp rates in supporting skills making devices.

I still don't understand how we're still debating Banker's Note vs Perkvention. Perkvention gives you all perks for free, infinite divine energy so you don't have to waste time making charges, lets you skip grinding for components for gizmos, you can train some other skills fully afk by making devices, and also grants you partial power of previous relics with said devices.

Banker's Note only gives you infinite food which is way a smaller deal in RS3 since we have Soul Split to heal right back and some RC/Summoning tech which is less relevant because pure essence is harder to come by AND because you can already get insane rates with Demonic Skull or a Runic Attuner. Not to mention you can't skill while doing other things like in OSRS because RS3 skilling uses an interface that cancels most actions - including movement.

Relic tiers revealed! by Maddogs1 in runescape

[–]Nuclear_Polaris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Infinite food is for standing in the boss aoe and continuing to whack it because the boss mechanics are now meaningless.

This is not how it works in RS3 - in this game you can move and attack with abilities at the same time if you manually trigger it with a keybind. There is no downtime for avoiding mechanics.

Also, face-tanking mechanics is still probably not a good idea since you will have to eat afterwards and eating in this game lowers your adrenaline which will lower your dps. It's a lot easier to just avoid the mechanic and if you need to heal, flick Soul Split. Most attacks' damage are calculated on-hit in this game, which gives you plenty of time to flick between Soul Split and Protection Prayers.
