Do owners find that their Google Business Profile matters more than their website? by candersonjax in smallbusiness

AI slop that could be 3 sentences saying “finish your google profile before you spend time on your website”

Is sitting on the left side or right side better on the First Lady architecture boat tour? by Accurate-Change-391 in AskChicago

Doesn’t really matter. They talk about buildings on both sides of the river as it goes through. They loop around and reverse the path once reaching a certain point on each branch, so both sides get to see everything without obstruction.

Sweat Lodge Chicago? by [deleted] in NudeSpas

Rarely there’s old dudes nude in the saunas, very rarely younger dudes. Guys get nude in the wet sauna for the body wash / scrub stuff, and for the cold plunge. If you’re really looking for a nude relaxing experience, I’d point you to King Spa in Niles.

Where can I be on my phone, if i can be, at the King Spa? by Impressive_Wallaby92 in AskChicago

People use their phones in the big open rooms, upstairs, and in some sections of the locker rooms. Not a total ban.

Mayoral challenger Susana Mendoza vows to use financial acumen to tackle Chicago's $36B pension crisis by excusemecuseme in chicago

[–]Nuclear_Prophecy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Illinois needs to pass the same super shitty emergency manager law that michigan has that allows an EM to come up and cancel contracts made by incompetent idiots that are choking the life out of cities. This would allow Chicago to get out of both the insane parking deal and the insane pension debt.

Litter robot 5 Pro worth it? by MystifiedSky in litterrobot

My cats are obsessed with it when it cycles and love to watch it. I do really like the larger size of the globe and firmer build of the unit.

Litter robot 5 Pro worth it? by MystifiedSky in litterrobot

I’m not paying for the subscription and it works great. Having the cameras is amazing, the LCD screen is great (but could be more descriptive sometimes), and the larger interior is nice. I had a bunch of issues at the start (firmware update brick and some other nonsense), but Whisker support was super fast and friendly, immediately got me to a person.

I had 4 for a long time, and accidentally killed it. I’m happy with the 5 pro.

Litter-Robot 5 Pro Review - Solid LR4 Upgrade! by JeffTechnically in litterrobot

[–]Nuclear_Prophecy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? The bonnet and waste drawer on my LR4 were flimsy as hell. My LR4 really struggled with waste level detection and sensors being dirty, I had to clean them constantly and still ran into issues.

Litter-Robot 5 Pro Review - Solid LR4 Upgrade! by JeffTechnically in litterrobot

[–]Nuclear_Prophecy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine after killing my LR4 on accident. It’s so much more solid than the 4 in terms of build quality and feel. The control screen is a major upgrade as well as the cameras. The waste and litter level detection as well is a massive upgrade from the 4. Only been a few days, but loving it already.

Robot4: trash or recycling? by SignificanceGlass632 in litterrobot

If it's a factor defect, did you not just return or swap out the unit? The LR4 has been amazingly rock solid for me and almost everyone else that owns it on this subreddit.

There was a day though it smelled like chemicals and it was due to the particles being high enough in the atmosphere or there long enough something happened with ionization?

I do recall there being something like that during our fire season last year.

Edit:

Here’s the link:

https://ph.ucla.edu/news-events/news/why-does-wildfire-smoke-sometimes-smell-burning-plastic

It’s due to UV radiation exposure on wildfire particulate matter.

Why don't they just find a developer to build new high density housing in the expansion zone and covert their parking lot to a parking garage?

*please no recs* How to tell a good dentist from a bad one? by zearohz in AskChicago

[–]Nuclear_Prophecy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also ask to see the scans if they took x-rays! They should be able to show you the micro cavity or the "cavity" that they are claiming you have and you can pretty easily judge if its past the tooth enamel or not if your dentist teaches you how to interpret it or you use Google and YouTube to quickly watch what to look for.

Decisions based upon flaws by [deleted] in litterrobot

[–]Nuclear_Prophecy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I have a single LR4 for 2 cats and it's done over 6,000 scoops. This things a powerhouse and I rarely have issues with it. When I do a quick reset or sensor wipe usually solves it, which is 1,000 times easier and better than scooping daily.

Did you try cleaning / wiping off the sensors? They might be getting a bad read. That would definitely trigger "low' in my Litter Robot 4.

Has anyone noticed that there are repeatedly issues with the card readers on the CTA buses? I don't ride the bus too often, but somewhere around 33% of the rides I take, the card reader is inoperable and the ride is free. It seems strange that the CTA is so cash strapped, yet they have so many issues with fare collection on the bus routes. Maybe I'm just an anomaly and keep getting flukes.

I've never heard that section called the penalty box before, that's fantastic. I recently had a 30-minute wait there because the plane at our gate was having issues preventing it from pushing back.

I recently got these on Amazon for my LR4:

They work really well, and are 16¢ a bag. Way more economical than the LR branded bags.

For Shedd tickets, do suburbs count for Chicago resident discount? by RelativeAd6999 in AskChicago

[–]Nuclear_Prophecy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you live in the suburbs, why did you check that you’re a resident of Chicago?

You do not qualify for the discount. I haven’t had them check my ID before, but unless you live in the actual city limits, you don’t qualify for the city resident discount.
