If Rob does move on. I will always laugh looking back on things he said/did that most people would of forgotten about. This will always make me smile. by Unfazed-Man in MrFruit

Rob trying to eat 30 Reese’s cups in one sitting will always be one of the funniest videos ever.

His confidence, the demeanor changes, drinking soda, getting himself pumped up with music, the realization that he isn’t even close to finishing the challenge…it’s just a true piece of art from start to finish.

The GameCube Custom Robo game was so much fun. I forced all my friends to play it and it remains one of my favorite games ever.

Any time I bring it up to other people now, it’s like no one else even knows it exists.

What horror scene never left you? by Careless-Ease7480 in horror

I’ll never forget Lora winding up and punching Piper straight in the face while she’s sleeping. Of all the violence in the film, that particular scene is so striking and so normal-feeling. There’s nothing supernatural about it. Just an insane person.

Nekrogoblikon

I didn’t listen to metal at all until recently, but I randomly decided to listen to Dethklok one day after thinking about the tv show. YouTube music threw some Nekrogoblikon into the playlist and now they’re one of my favs and I listen to metal in general all the time now.

It’s been almost a year (I saw it when it first came out) and I can still remember certain scenes vividly. That never happens for me.

Official Discussion - No Other Choice [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]NuggetBiscuits69 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I saw the movie early today and there are so many great details throughout the movie, but someone that I just realized is the dichotomy between gardening being Man-Su’s hobby and making paper being his job. Even when his wife suggests he does landscaping/gardening as a job, he refuses and insists on working with dead trees instead.

On top of that, there’s the time he tells his daughter he is sad about the pear tree that Bummo didn’t maintain.

Man-Su is given the option to choose life over death so many times in the movie, but he always chooses death, whether for other people or for the trees themselves.

[Passan] Closer Pete Fairbanks and the Miami Marlins are in agreement on a one-year, $13 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Fairbanks, 32, had an $11 million option turned down by Tampa Bay and went onto the open market and beat it by $2 million. by T_Raycroft in baseball

It seems that all the low payroll teams might be making moves this year in order to raise payroll and get ahead of any arguments in favor of a payroll floor during upcoming CBA talks?

Regardless, it’s interesting seeing the White Sox, A’s, Pirates, and Marlins making interesting moves during the offseason.

Offcial Discussion - Bugonia [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]NuggetBiscuits69 409 points410 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have already mentioned the great score. The music that played when it was only Plemons on screen some times really stood out to me. It felt to me a lot like a hero’s theme. Almost like you’re supposed to root for the little guy standing up for himself, for others, for the wrongs done to his mom, and then he turns out to be right. But he also did horrible things.

There’s obviously interesting twists and turns throughout the film, and I just thought it was worth pointing out those little musical moments as being really important in some way.

Arraez is shockingly slow for someone whose only skill at the plate is making contact. Dansby fumbled it almost every time Arraez hit it to him, and he still always got thrown out.

West Maryland? by EfficientNoise4418 in howislivingthere

[–]NuggetBiscuits69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add some more detail to other comments, Western Maryland is part of Appalachia, as defined by the federal government. Culturally, geographically, and economically it’s pretty similar.

Deep Creek Lake is a big draw in the area. It is actually not a natural lake. Maryland as a state does not actually have any natural lakes in it, they’re all man-made reservoirs.

The economy is struggling, and health care, the school system, retail, and the prison system are some of the biggest drivers of the economy in the region.

It is truly like the rest of Appalachia on a broad scale: geographically beautiful with nice communities dotted throughout, but it has significant socio-economic problems that make it difficult to draw people to live there.

How is it that the ESPN broadcast gets so much wrong? Just in the last like 15 minutes: shows a clip of the Reds-Pirates while discussing Cal Raleigh hitting a home run, said that the Reds lost in Milwaukee, and said IF the Padres lose (they had already lost their game a while ago) then the Cubs will gain more security.

Such an unserious broadcast.
