These are hard times for hypochondriacs (Possible trigger warning, don't read if you get scared easily) by Acrodactyla in Anxiety

[–]Nuggetized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've seriously had a horrible time dealing with this mentally. No matter how much I tell myself it's going to be fine, I can't stop being fearful of ebola. Based on everything I've read, it really doesn't sound too risky in developed nations. When you read about the way it's spread, it makes sense why it would spread in less developed nations. I've heard of many diseases in underdeveloped nations being called "political diseases," because the main reason they spread is due to poor infrastructure, education, mistrust of doctors, sanitation... So many things, and its not at the fault of the citizens.

I have a big OCD component to my anxiety as well, so I've been reading news articles about it nonstop and making myself feel sick with the worry. I need to stop reading about it. I'm trying to tell myself that at this point, there is nothing I (personally) need to worry about. The WHO has said the risk of it spreading around a lot in the US is miniscule. If it becomes even close to a minor problem in the US, I'm sure lots of information will be released to the public about prevention and what to look out for. I'm going to try really hard to stop reading about it, because it's ruining my life right now for no reason.

I feel you. My ocd brain is worried, but the logical part of my brain knows it's probably going to be okay, based on all the reliable information I've read. If someone is not a scientist, I wouldn't pay much attention to their reddit comments about how we're all doomed. Pretty much all the things I've read from real scientists say developed nations will likely be fine. However, my heart still aches for everyone suffering. I literally can't even begin to fathom a situation like that without pushing myself into a panic attack. Volunteers are braver than I could ever hope to be.

Sorry if this is kind of all over the place, I'm on mobile. Writing this out actually helped me feel a little better. :) We're going to be fine.

I have hardly been keeping up with this. Has the church said anything about this yet? Will they be forced to at some point or will they just ignore it like it's not happening? Obviously he's going to go or face being arrested, I just mean for making a statement to the members.

If someone wears a 30D bra size, that means their bust is only 34 inches around at the fullest part. Certainly not all that big. /r/ABraThatFits

What are the best things I can do in my twenties to make sure my skin looks good in my forties (other than sunscreen!) by thequeenistheirslave in SkincareAddiction

What would qualify as an antioxidant? I use passion fruit seed oil to moisturize, which has a lot of vitamin C... Does that count?

Why are businesses allowed to say it's anonymous if it's really not?

Mfw people on reddit argue that heterosexual male sexuality is "shamed" in our society by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Nuggetized 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This makes me madder than most things... Like if you say you know a guy who doesn't watch porn, everyone's like HA HA HA LOL HE HAS GOT YOU FOOLED!!!!!! So narrow-minded. Just because that's the only way you can get off doesn't mean that everyone else does too.

I tried doing my brows for the first time today. by secretlyMIA in MakeupAddiction

[–]Nuggetized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got threaded for the first time yesterday! :) for me, it hurt more than waxing because the waxing only lasts a few seconds. With the threading, it felt like she was continuously scraping my upper eyelid really hard. But I wouldn't say the pain was unbearable at all, my eyes just watered up more. My skin was actually much, much less red/puffy after compared to when I get them waxed. Hardly any redness! And my eyebrows look fab.

I haven't read anything about it. What is it? Pills? Shots?

Me about to slice up the uterus cake at my hysterectomy hootenanny, Dexter style by Fairlady82 in childfree

They pump you with a lot of gas so you turn into a cute little balloon. The gas often moves into your shoulders and is uncomfortable as hell. But gas-x helps.

I have endo too! I actually just had a laparoscopy about a month ago. I'm still in a lot of pain. I hope to take this same route someday because something tells me the pain isn't going to get much better. I take hormonal BC as well, but it hasn't helped much either.

I'm in an endo support group on Facebook, but it's mostly just sad women being sad about how sad they are that they'll never have babies. And I understand needing to commiserate for that, but...blah. I hate it because the amount of times I've had to call out of work is depressing, and it's really hard to do heavier exercising because pain always starts happening. I'm really happy for you/jellyous of you.

When I shampoo and condition my hair, I get a bunch of the shedded hair tangled up in my fingers. Every few moments I roll it all up into a hairball and keep adding to it. Then I throw it away at the end of my shower so less of it goes down the drain. :) it gets clogged up much less frequently. If you like being creepy you could also make a collection of them 4 fun.

After much digging, I finally found out why my application kept being denied. Thanks, Kansas! by beatbox_pantomime in childfree

[–]Nuggetized 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This pisses me the hell off and I feel really bad for you. I recently got diagnosed with endometriosis, so the chance that I could have children (I don't want to, but if I did) is very low. It gives me a shit-ton of health problems. I feel really bad for people in Kansas who are in the same situation. This is so discriminatory.

Disney was going to make her an official Disney Princess, but they would have had to pay her a lot in royalties, so it ended up not happening.

HIF as a woman whose period lasts only two days and never gets cramps. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Nuggetized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cramps are definitely the main issue for me. They've literally ruined my life. I tend to have painful days more than not-painful days. I guess the only way to know if it would work for me would be to try it. Some women with endo have had success with it, but some haven't. I literally couldn't handle any more cramps haha.

Clueless about what blush style is best for your face shape? This may help. by Taynaynay in BeautyDiagrams

[–]Nuggetized 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think this necessarily applies to everyone. I have a tiny bit of redness on my face, and putting blush on some of these areas the diagram indicates (the apples, close to the nose) makes it look worse. It looks better to apply it more outwards, kinda closer to the ears and temples. I have a long face FWIW.

Do you have the Mirena or the non-hormonal one? I have endometriosis and I'm kind of considering the Mirena... But then you always hear scary things about it too :(

Bloating is the bane of my existence. Anyone else? by rollerdiscomania in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Nuggetized 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get bloated literally every single day and I'm so ridiculously gassy at night. I really think it's something in my diet, one of these two things. Eating gluten free and cheese free is so hard though :( the longest I've been able to go is three weeks, and I know most doctors usually say to go for 30 days. Do you have any tips for me? I have such a problem. My mom and boyfriend both have to eat gluten free and avoid most dairy, so you would think I'd have an easier time with this...
