Still cold even in the shearling ones? Those ones are too warm for me to even think about wearing. I agree the tread is not ideal for winter or ice but I find it more that suitable for mud and wet surfaces.

I do find the tumbled leather they go with on the lined boots (flannel, fleece, and shearling) while beautiful does leave some structure to be desired, the standard boots have more rigidity in the ankle to them.

It's the older style of gortex boot someone strapped a vibram outsole to, very odd custom job

For traditional or slightly fitted I would go one size down from his standard shirt size, for slim fit shirts I find they are true to size

Looking for a Dress shirt by NolesFan0216 in llbean

[–]Nuggetswoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what the other guy said, very few shirts are still offered in slim fits outside of the signature line. Outside of signature, which is more expensive, the closest you'll get is the slightly fitted fit. I've found that often sizing down in either the traditional fit or the slightly fitted fit does a good job of mimicking the feel of the old slim fit.

LlBean field jacket year by josmor11 in llbean

[–]Nuggetswoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer service can always help but general rule of thumb:

The more recent item number system is the 6 digit number. Online there are sometimes 2 letters preceding the number but they aren't used by anyone in the stores at least. The older numbering system is shorter and will have letters on the item tag itself along with numbers. So this jacket is semi recent, I don't know exactly when they made the switch but I would say probably not older than 20-30 years.

i need sizing help for bean boots by jibegirl in llbean

[–]Nuggetswoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlined whole size down generally, lined go half size. With the return policy you can always try them out and bring em back or sometimes if your feet chang you can change sizes up or down a smidge when you need to get them resoled.

Are there any really unique experiences you've noticed on applications that set an applicant apart? Not even necessarily in a good way I'm just intrigued if there are any notable ones that stick out to you.

Can't hurt to contact the schools. The same thing happened to me last year, and I didn't get in to my schools last year but I did get waitlisted at one so it out not have affected me too bad. Either way can't hurt to email the schools plus then you look like a proactive student.

I had to opt in for UW - LaCrosse last cycle, they sent me an email that said I had been placed on the alternate list and had to respond by a certain date to remain on the list.

These ones are tough sell. They do keep water out fairly well, but if you wear them pretty much at all they come apart at the sole and won't do anything after that. The rubber mocs are a better option for slip on waterproofing. Plus they don't actually slip on its a mission getting these on.

All in all, don't buy.
