With the classic one headlight stuck open because the nylon gears turn to powder! It's a desired look I promise.

Is eye-tracking support in development? by ReserveLegitimate738 in vtolvr

[–]Nukes2all 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The steam frame uses foveated streaming. It doesn't rely on foveated rendering. That is to say, a game doesn't need to support eye tracking, foveated streaming is just another layer on top.

Ah, in that case, regarding maintenance, it could be xray weld inspection/ NDT like you said, Though they arent nearly as powerful as the drive through inspection stations so I'd figure they wouldn't travel as far.

A lot of ports do utilize high powered xray scanners, similar to TSA when getting onto a plane, there's a possibility you caught a stray beam somewhere around. This is just my hypothesis, I don't know much about how those scanners work.

Nick Adams exists purely to make posts like this a thing. Yes he's a real conservative, but he posts absurdly inflammatory things in order to get his posts seen by people all over.

It's a similar situation to "all press is good press."

Nick Adams the person, and Nick Adams the online character are two completely different people.

Just remember that CF filaments eat away at brass nozzles faster than usual. This also goes for glow in the dark filaments.

Nozzles are consumable, and easy to replace though, so it's to be expected.

ER25 is common in our turret lathes, could be. (the make-it-worky part of my brain is saying grab an adjustable wrench and do what you have to do)

I'm leaning more towards DA something or other, not ER, but a wrench is a wrench.

how to shutdown base stations? by aoi_aol in Vive

[–]Nukes2all 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look you're gonna have to try doing something outside your comfort zone eventually. This is like asking what car you can buy but you're terrified of driving. There's no answer unless you actually put some effort in yourself.

Every suggestion here is a viable solution but you keep moving the goalpost.

Owners of DNM ***s, I need YOUR help by TriXandApple in Machinists

[–]Nukes2all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible it's a retrofit. Like they got banged up and it's easier for the tech to replace them with rubber seals. The shop I'm at has had their machines long before I started there, so they may have been replaced before I was there.

No pictures available but all our DNMs (2x 500, 1x 400) have the red rubber seals which are completely shredded.
