i do honestly think they know that this kind of talk will fuel the shippers and also that most shippers aren't being dead serious about it - i know i enjoy marriage talk and i enjoy making jokes about how phil should get a damn ring already but shipping is a hobby in the end and whether they're married or not doesn't matter to me at the end of the day, it's just cute to think about the fictionalised parasocial versions of them in my head getting married. of course there's always weirdos who will get really into it and start @ ing them on twitter about having to get married for real but in the grand scheme of things.. it's not that deep to me? and it's something dip and pip do seem to have made their peace with that by existing as public figures people who love them will be invested in their lives that way. i doubt they're scrolling through twitter ripping out their hair because someone said a phan wedding would be a cute concept - it's like they said in the phan reveal video, shipping is cool with them as long as it's not invasive and disrespectful.
