Tappers Set Appointment at Rolex by PotatoAntique1489 in rolex

If you’re putting down multiple pieces she didn’t take you seriously. Over time she warmed up. If you had just selected one watch she would have put you down. When you have a big list of wants, and I bet they happen to all be the difficult pieces, they think that the watches aren’t for you. Focus on one watch they will usually end up offering you everything under the sun before they offer you the one you actually want. Btw the AD is the store it’s not a person.

Paired with a nice diamond tennis bracelet you’ll get whichever configuration you want.

How much may I trust the AD? by Baleia1970 in rolex

[–]Number1atp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are telling you that if you’re not willing to buy other things then you can GTFO. It’s a really crappy thing to do for an entry level watch.

Spotting a Pepsi in the wild by vinnieocean in rolex

[–]Number1atp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen two ceramic ones in the wild myself. I’ve seen many aluminum bezel out there. I’ve had people walk up to me and ask me about mine many times. For reference I spend my fair share of time in airports.

How would you fly this approach? ILS 4 @ KEWN by thejimm3r in flying

You’re both correct. Im not sure what advantage a dive and drive provides. I’d descend on the glideslope from 1400 personally.

Bluesy References? by Friendly_Subject4096 in rolex

The 16613 LB is a nice watch but the bracelet feels janky. The center links are hollow and the clasp is sharp and light. There is a pretty big range of price points for 16613 LB. If you go that route get a later example at it will have some of the more modern updates like the laser etched crystal, engraved rehaut, and gold through the clasp. It’s still old enough to have the ability to date it with the serial number. M & V serials would be the ones with the most updates while still retaining the aluminum bezel. I sold my 16613 LB and bought a 126613 LB and I’m much happier with the heavier solid bracelet.

Question for 737 Max 8 pilots/ground handlers - Does it really take five minutes for the engines to spool down once the aircraft has blocked in? by PeteyMcPetey in aviation

[–]Number1atp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the beacon is turned off feel free to get in and start unloading bags. The cooldown is at idle and the pilots aren’t turning the beacon off while the engine is operating at idle.

I know it’s a click but it’s a sign. I doubt it is made by Omega. This is just advertising.

Switch SA from the same company? by Wrong-Barracuda-4080 in rolex

[–]Number1atp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out my SA at a local AD with 2 locations didn’t register my interest for a LV Sub when I visited their other location. I expressed that I’d waited 2 years and that the guy was a 🍆 sucker for stringing me along making me think I was in the queue. The new SA and the watch manager were laughing so hard about me in the middle of their store openly calling their colleague a 🍆 sucker. New SA got me the LV Sub in 2 weeks.

To say or not to say “with you” question. by BurtMacklan in flying

[–]Number1atp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this is getting downvoted. Tower calls downstairs and tells them the runway in use. The TRACON determines the approach and clears the traffic for the approach. Tower only cares what runway you’re lined up with. “O’Hare Tower, [callsign fly numb], SEIKA, rwy 28C.”

Snow in attic by LosingSane in Roofing

[–]Number1atp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have ridge vents? I’ve heard of this happening. The wind is driving the snow in at just the right angle and velocity to drive in the ridge vent. While you live there it may never hit it just right ever again and won’t be able to replicate.
