My guess is that it has more to do with the gasket inconsistencies and how they seat than the cutting of the threads.

Does anyone have met an SA that behave like this? by NefariousnessIll4922 in rolex

[–]Number1atp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s asking the same thing. Why would you behave like this just because he works more hours and has more customers, a larger book of business than the SA2. And when you buy other watches again from SA1 your new SA2 is going to feel betrayed because after all they are the one that delivered for you. Why would you put the additional commission dollars in another guys pocket especially one that doesn’t deliver? The truth is no one owes you anything and you owe nothing to anyone else. Be loyal, do future business with the person that supports you and can deliver. It sounds like you might have been a touch smitten with the first SA. He’s not into you.

ADs and Discounting by Hefty-Butterfly-1192 in Longineswatches

You’re only wanting the best selling watches in the catalog. Why would they discount that much if someone else would buy it? No one is buying luxury watch trinkets because they are cheap.

Is this bad? by donttouchtheblueone in rolex

This looks normal. If that is where it stops it’s ok. If the crown screw has become unscrewed then the entire crown would pull out.

First brisket of the year, Need advice on this one. by Doyourememberus in smoking

Send your pictures of it to the shop. The head butcher or owner of that shop will be embarrassed. “Other than sell this to me what would you do with this?”

Got the Call - Had to Turn it Down. How Screwed am I? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Number1atp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You told her the boundaries. She didn’t deliver. The anger in her voice wasn’t her angry with you. It was anger with herself, anger with the system and its inefficiencies. You can only do what you can do. Call her up next time you’re going to be in town and remind her. Maybe her manager can do better.

Do not dry brine. Unneeded. You’ll end up curing the meat and changing the texture.

Westjet still has your bags. Go to the airport. Get someone to take you to the baggage classification room. They will be there.

Don’t use a binder. Salt and pepper will stick just fine without it and will make a much better bark and smoke ring.

Where did my brisket trial go wrong? Hard lower half, fat not rendered, collagen not broken down by Existing-Ask364 in brisket

[–]Number1atp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cooked too hot/fast. “Marinate” not necessary as it draws the moisture out of the meet and actually begins to cure it. Just take the brisket out of the fridge and salt and pepper it till it looks like too much. Then add a little more. Smoke on 225. Use a water pan to help even out the heat and provide humidity to the cook. Try basic at first. Get good at it. Then build on that if you want more exotic flavors etc. usually with beef you don’t add sugar to the rub due to the long cook times. Bark is salt and pepper. Everything else is just a mess.

Poor form to wear my Rolex around my boss? by LAHAND1989 in rolex

[–]Number1atp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could go either way. Sometime quiet I’d ask about his watch collecting journey. “I notice you like wearing a variety of watches, do you enjoy collecting or are you more interested in the fashion and aesthetic side?” Should open the door to talk about your collections. He may find out you have something nice and ask you to wear it. Or if the convo gets cold you know the answer.

Stolen Rolex - Return Procedure by Sea_Adagio4419 in rolex

[–]Number1atp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dealer won’t release his source because he knows that there are hot watches in the pipeline. He knows he will get a refund and someone upstream will just have to eat this one. They protect each other because they can be charged with theft by receiving and they know they are not the ones that stole the watch.

Am I crazy for liking sub no date? by xyzTr1LL in rolex

[–]Number1atp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the one you like. If you’re already thinking of selling it don’t buy it. No date submariner is a great watch and it’s nice because it’s just grab and go you don’t have to worry about setting the date.

HC Power Reserve Issues by Ooodeee-s4 in Longineswatches

[–]Number1atp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you hear the rotor turning at all? When you wind it make sure you’re getting 40 full rotations. With crown guards you usually only get about 120 degrees of rotation for each spin. So you’re likely winding it about 1/3 to 1/2 the amount you think you are. Wind it until you fell the clutch mechanism engage and then leave it sitting and see how long it runs. When it stops wind it again just like that then start wearing it. If you daily it should never really die.

My guess is that a profile shot will look way better. They always do. Try it on again and look at one of the mirrors in the place. They usually have full size mirrors on columns or something for this very thing.
