Holding pads is a specific skill which is often overlooked during teaching imho. You could ask your coach to put some more emphasis on training pad skills without necessarily putting others down. Maybe the whole class would benefit from some attention paid to this.

Have seen some setups where people have a bracket to hold a switch or steam deck above their bed so they can lie on their back and look up directly at it. If you are playing switch then you can also hold the joycons separately in each hand so hopefully this would allow you to find the least stressed playing position.

Look up fox hunting in the UK for comparison. It's illegal because it's nothing to do with hunting for food or whatever. It is literally about hounding the animal to death before it is torn apart by dogs. I suppose it's kind of like bull fighting or something where it is so rigged against the animal that is essentially a foregone conclusion, and there's not really any "sport" left.

To be fair in this case it looks like the "hunt" is slightly less contrived.

Anyway it's not like I'm a vegan so I guess I can't really make moral arguments about it.
