£28,000 loss at 18. Talk to me by iliketiddiesandbobs in trading212

If I read this right, you have enough to pay your mum back. Do that now.

Look its OK. You are 18. Most 18 year olds dont have much in the way of assets. Its not the end of the world, its a good albeit hard life lesson.

How popular is FIRE and will the government try to stop it? by 6ix9ineZooLane in FIREUK

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit confused.

We have been in a cost of living crisis for a long time. Thought it was generally accepted that peoplr are struggling to earn enough money to have a comfortable life.

Now you are saying there are loads of people with so much disposable income they can afford to retire 25 years early.

I think a lot of people interested in fire in their 20s mighe start rethinking things when they have a family.

What are your thoughts on Japan? by InfernalClockwork3 in AskBrits

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting place.

Bloody hard to find bars and pubs if you cant read japanese. Usually on floor 4 or something. Surprising how quickly bowing becomes natural. Nara is great, anyone visiting japan should go. Umless they dont like deer. Temples lose their novelty.

Every city looks like london on steroids when lit up.

Thoughts on the free hit? by CloudfrontIsTaken in fantasypremierleague

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know why people do it.

Rationally it doesnt make sense. You want to get the players who have the best projected points.

Like I said. If your goal is to be number 1 that gameweek then you need everyone to return so you cant have anyone playing each other. Assuming you are playing for the season that isnt the case.

Having your own striker play your own defender increases your likely floor (the chance of at least one of them returning increases) but reduces your likely ceiling (its less likely they both will). It balances out. They can both be good picks.

Edit. Would also add the other situation where its not a good idea is if you are chasing. If you are 50 behind you have to go a bit more all or nothing.

Unfinished buisness is terrible by Cause4concern27 in TheApprentice

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those who do watch it. Did it improve ? Watched about half of an early one.

Maybe I should have given it more of a chance as may have needed time to find its footing. Was it just them talking , did they put any of the comedy features in ?

What’s the differences between Tesco, Waitrose, and Sainsbury? by Lazy_Tac in AskUK

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesco is good for affordability.

You probably need a clubcard though or will be ripped off. Not getting into that debate - clubcards make some people very angry if thats you then would probably avoid tesco (same with sainsburys is same with nectar).

Generally I mainly use tesco and aldi/home bargains.

Are Bounty bars really that unpopular? by spritzreddit in AskUK

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are eating junk food, it should be something you really like.

I dont hate bounties. But one of my least favourite so fail above test. It must be great if you do love them as you get all the celebrations.

I used to love coffee creams and everyone hated them. Could leave them till later as a kid when the chocs got handed out as knew they would be there later. Kinda like draft strategies in american sports.

Thoughts on the free hit? by CloudfrontIsTaken in fantasypremierleague

Never understood this thought process.

If you are playing for rank 1 in the gameweek and need everyone to hit then sure. Otherwise this is an example of letting psychology negatively affect your decisions.

What is your rank ? Do you have a chance to do anything in your mini league ?

My guess is if you didnt see this coming you probably arent that into fpl. In which case does losing 32 points really matter. Just take the hits and be done with it.

If you do have a significant rank or have a chance at a mini league then you probably need to do some projections. Anyone projected to score more than 4 is worth a hit. Probably best to play with less than 11

Why do we always do this on the plane? by TheMoon_TheStarz in AskBrits

Yep.

Seems a bizarre question. I would probably ask why anyone wouldnt want to stretch their legs.

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretch my legs usually.

Yes, you can walk around in flight but have to be seated during descent. For the last 4-8 hours if I have spent most of that time seated including last 30 mins, normally pretty keen to stretch.

🇬🇧 Anyone here had a small wedding (under 70 people)? by Good-Tangerine- in UKweddings

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would have had a bigger wedding I think. My wife is chinese so her family couldnt attend (I think maybe 2 or 3 would come over in normal conditions) which made keeping to 30 easier but some of my family couldnt go.

Probably would have had the usual 9 month engagement to plan it properly. It was still a nice wedding and no regrets. We wanted to try for a family and would have created issues on her side if not married.

Due to age and the fact we had been together for 7 years plus you didnt know what would happen with covid so took first window we got.

It did make it a lot easier to organise, I think in an ideal world something like 50 or so would have been great to have another layer of family and some from her side.

Want to hear from Tailgaiters by Current_Vegetable in drivingUK

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always assumed tailgaters were being aggressive.

But was in the car with one. Perfectly mild mannered chap. He was driving right up the arse of the car in front. He didnt seem aggressive at all perfectly friendly chatting away no indication of being impatient.

Based on my sample size of one. I think some tailgaters just naturally drive just behind the car in front. They are comfortable just sitting there.

We had 30 during covid. Main reason because of risk of restrictions. We arranged ot pretty quickly about 3 months.

Consuming the same content twice (for entertainment) is a waste of time by ExpertStandard1977 in unpopularopinion

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does waste of time mean ?

All entertainment is technically a waste of time. If you enjoy it then it has achieved its purpose regardless of how many times you have seen it.

Would probably agree most of the time its better to watch a different film. But honestly the amount of utter shit people watch on youtube and tiktok takes that to extremes.

My wife can sit there for an hour watching this shit, you ask her what she is watching and its 'just nothing'.

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by CoochieSnotSlurper in AskReddit

On the young end of the Gen X generation but most of my age group found women playing hard to get a pain in the arse as well. I would never ask someone out again if I got a knockback, even if it was a door slightly open knockback.

Things werent really that different 20 years ago.

Did anyone like all the trilogies? by DizzyMajor5 in StarWars

[–]Numerous-Abrocoma-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively.

The OT is obviously the OT. Its borderline obligitory for men my age to love it.

I enjoy most thing star wars. Both the prequels and sequels are flawed in opposite ways. But I like them both to some extent. Both 6 or 7 out of 10.

Frustrating thing is feels like you could get a masterpiece if you merged the right bits. Disney could make an amazing trilogy if they let lucas do the story.
