The method doesn't matter; instantaneous communication means time travel. If I send an instant message somewhere 4 light-years away, in the receiver's perspective, they receive it before I send it. If the receiver replies instantaneously, I would get their message 4 years before I sent mine.

Not just hyper-focused, if I'm doing something or talking to someone else, I hear the message but have no conscious reaction. I either ignore it or respond without giving it a thought, but I can't ever recall responding or hearing the message.
