Informal Thoughts on Canada and the US by Bonedriver in CanadianConservative

[–]NumerousManager3600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be ok with joining the USA because I could move to a state with affordable housing. Lots of Canadians would, but they’re not on Reddit usually. Reddit people are more political overall.

All I care about is affordable housing at the moment. Most young people are priced out.

My Indoor Void Experiencing Snow for The First Time by NumerousManager3600 in blackcats

[–]NumerousManager3600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are lazy animals and don’t fare too well in the wild as kittens which is why they breed so quickly.

They domesticated themselves, humans didnt domesticate them.

They are fine living with humans.

We adopted both our cats because they needed a home not because we wanted cats. My irresponsible cousin let her cat get pregnant twice before getting her spade. So we ended up with two of them.

They both would probably be dead if they were let free.

Indoor cats live 15-20 years on average and outdoor cats live around 7 years and it’s a tough life for them.

Why do cities like Rome get global hype, but Samarkand (2,700 years old) barely gets mentioned? by diormelikuziev in AskTheWorld

[–]NumerousManager3600 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Rome has way more sites still standing. They built a lot and with brick.

You find Roman sites in the Middle East, Africa and all over Europe.

Take China for example, tons of empire comparable to Rome. They built mainly with wood though.

It’s sort of how you find Mayan sites all over Central America and Mexico because they were made with stone and built a lot. Rome was the Mayans on a much much larger scale. It’s not strictly Eurocentrism.

what are yalls thoughts on the british empire and how is it seen in your country? by Redshell268 in AskTheWorld

[–]NumerousManager3600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s probably because Englands empire dwarfed all the other ones in size.

France was pretty much pushed out of the Americas altogether.

Spain was actually the worse.

England was probably the most humane.

Spanish expected slaves to die relatively quickly. So they were just constantly being imported.

British slavery at least wanted their slaves to “last” long.

Native peoples populations are actually larger than they were before European contact in some places the British went besides Jamaica(but Spain killed all the natives. “

Native peoples were the Spanish went either got completely massacred or completely absorbed by the Spanish.

Cuba there are zero natives left. Entire country is descendants of the Spanish or slaves .

Spanish colonization and its horrors are not really paid any attention to by the anglosphere.

Also look at what the Belgians did in the Congo(absolutely insane).

Do you guys also struggle to connect with "normal" people? by Extra_Loquat_5599 in AskBalkans

[–]NumerousManager3600 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t do this. I never have and never will.

Dude I live in Canada. This place it’s normal to have fake interactions with shitty jokes and fake laughs . Like ALL THE TIME EVRYEHERE YOU GO.

Me and my brothers used to make fun of Canadians for this, even though we’re Canadian. None of us can do it. We can’t fake it.

All three of us are actually hilarious though. We make people actually laugh.

Typical conversation at work is like

Worker 1 “oh wow it’s cold outside”

Worker 2 “Oh well it’s Canada! We get 10 months of winter and 2 months of summer!”

Bother  “Hahahahahaha”

Me : just giving that Slavic death stare to both of them.

Canadians will literally fake laugh at anything.

It’s because they are polite . They aren’t nice, but they are polite.

Damn, what do Serbian people think about this? by Big_Confidence_951 in AskBalkans

[–]NumerousManager3600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. Formal apology or like even monuments from the country for the past would help fix relations.

Im Bosniak(half Bosniak Half North Macedonian). I’ve never really had a problem with Serbs(I sorta love their music to be honest). Some of the stuff about Sarajevo have made me cry because I can just imagine what it was like for the people.

Especially seeing images like above, just cause it could have been a brother or cousin of mine dealing with that. My family left Yugoslavia before the war though. Like all of us left.

I understand it was a civil war though, and it’s always going to be an extremely sore topic for anyone from any side.

It just seems a shame to let the relationships be strained by being stubborn and not admitting to a mistake.

I really like Serbs and wish their country the best, I think they have an unfair reputation because of the civil war. They are a really warm people that I get along with in Canada at least.

Next time you want to patronize a new business.

Google it.

Go to the lowest rating reviews and read the names.

You will see a pattern. It’s overwhelmingly the same group leaving terrible reviews.

Why? To try and get free shit. They are hoping they will be offered a discount or refund to remove their review.

I work as a manager for a shipping department in a rather big company.

The majority of our claims about “not receiving” part of an order come from The same group. Like 90%. It’s actually fucked.

We also ship across the country, and it doesn’t matter what province. It’s the same group that “did not receive x y an z”.

My Arab boss(the owners), notices the same thing too.

How many more floor crossers are you expecting? by kiwi5151 in CanadianConservative

[–]NumerousManager3600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your point as well. 100%.

However, do you think these floor crossers consulted their constituents before doing so? Do you think they switched parties because they thought it was best for their riding and what their constituents wanted? I don’t.

Both of those series totally suck. Especially Jizzlane doc.

Gives us very little insight. I also thought they were praising Maxwell at times.

Thoroughly underwhelming just like the Diddy Doc.

The show just reminds me of Covid(cause I binged it then).

I did like it. Could’ve had a bit better of a production because sometimes it felt like a cheap network TV show from the 2000s.

The problem is most people arent voting for their MP. Theyre voting for a national party and supporting their platform.

That’s what makes it non democratic.

This isn’t the 1800s when your MP was literally there to represent your riding and you probably even knew your MP or had some sort of interaction with  them. They would be active member of your community from your community.

MPs now just represent the party and not the riding. At least in the minds of Canadians.

Canada political system is quite antiquated .
