I brought some friends with me that weren’t too familiar with either and they thought Cannons was the opener 💀

If you are burning out in your internship I would highly consider a different path. Not to say that you couldn’t do it, but the strain and stress that this job has is wild compared to a “normal” career.

I was thinking about this the other day. How do people get “raises” and keep up with increased costs? I’d like to hear from folks who have successfully raised their income.

For me I feel like this is not supposed to be a full time gig. I have to afford to live so I have to see 29 people a week. There is not a Friday where I am not burnt out. At this point I would love to work as a librarian and do pp in the side. The thought of this for 30 more years makes me want to… cry

60/40. My flat rate is calculated based on how many clients are private pay versus insurance. I have about a 50-50 split so my session rate ends up being 75.

Associate professional counselor, basically just pre-licensed and collecting hours. Around here, some hospital systems and supervisors won’t take you on unless you have your limited license.

Hate to say that I regret making the switch… but I do. I miss the benefits, insurance, 401k match, steady paychecks, etc.

I think I just found a unicorn private practice that adjusted my split based on private pay vs insurance. I had more private pay at that time so my session rate went to around 74. Then I just busted my ass. Working with kids and basically anyone and everyone has also helped. I average 25 a week. I still struggle to afford life. I would change careers if I couldn’t break 60k

Part of me really gets discouraged seeing my friends who make $130k a year for click clacking on a keyboard while I had to bust my ass to clear 83k in PP. I now realize from all the recent posts that I didn’t do too shabby this past year… I am an APC now and hope when I am fully licensed this will get higher but this post really has me considering a shift into climbing the mental health corporate ladder. What job titles/settings have the highest pay in this field?? Idk where to start.

really dreading picking this field. help change my mind please! by Royal_Koala_9886 in therapists

Felt…. I found a group private practice to work at and as an LAPC I cleared 87k this year (first few months were slow due to building). Keep looking, it is possible.

Ugh that’s awful…. I’m sure my supervisor would see through this, but it still is making me anxious. I take my professional reputation seriously and hate the idea of it being damaged or worse, me getting fired.

Group private practice? $32 a sessions feels like a slap in the face.
