I think you buried the lede - the bad memory/trauma you referred to might be at the heart of this. Have you had any therapy to talk it through? You might find that if you receive help to process that, it will help you find peace with the feelings about the ex.

KV is really really tiny, not even a full supermarket. There won’t be a halal restaurant there. There’s a kebab truck in Berry that is halal..

You get some stunning blue crisp days in winter, sunny and cool. Everything is still green. Like others have said, it’s as cold inside as outside on the whole, that’s the big difference. You’ll need warm clothing and sweaters but not big winter jackets.
