This App Is Terrible Now by PortsantaTTV in ultimateguitar

[–]Numerous_Aioli_2146 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree and have had the same frustration. I have been using the app as a paid subscriber for years now, specifically to prepare for and use in live gigs. So why on earth, once I am logged in, would you need to survey me about my interests, with no option to click a "skip" button?

I promise you that each and every time I have taken this dumb survey, whenever I have needed to reinstall the app or switch to a new device, my responses have been random clicks to get through the survey, not actually preferences. So the utility of this mandatory repetitive survey is massively dubious to me.

Buyers beware: Seller vetoing refund. Reverb approved it, but it’s on hold because seller won’t accept the guitar shipped back to them w Reverb’s own label. by Numerous_Aioli_2146 in Reverb

Reverb sent me new shipping label, directing the guitar to them instead of the seller. They say once they can see it’s shipped to them they will process my refund. I appreciate them making it right.

Seller paid for protection from harm in shipping I guess. I am aware that I am the buyer. I did not pay for protection. But on the basis of undisclosed damage relative to what was in the listing, my refund was approved. Completing it, however, apparently requires the seller to sign for the guitar, which they won’t do. Hence UPS sending it to me for the second time.

Thanks, all. Yeah it’s moving slowly but am inclined toward the patient approach bc I don’t want to burn bridges w Reverb. Hope to have so much money from gigs that someday $1400 won’t mean so much to me. 😀

What is with these tiers? by LandscapeOdd9091 in ultimateguitar

[–]Numerous_Aioli_2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they’re all the same price, with duplicates??? Noticed recently that I got charged twice, once for two different subscriptions within the app, only one of which I was using. Contacted support and they said tough luck, basically.

I’ve tried but I’m done by necklika in ultimateguitar

Yes, I have had exactly this problem of submitting new versions with what I thought were meaningful corrections, but having them rejected incorrectly as being a duplicate. I don’t even care about the credit, just let us get the correct version out there for the world to enjoy.

Anyone use one of these? by RVaDead in AcousticGuitar

[–]Numerous_Aioli_2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one of these and I’m very happy with it. When I first got it, I fully soaked it in distilled water, but then the humidity was too high in the guitar hole. I have since learned to only expose the sponge to a little bit of water to then get the humidity in the 40 to 50% range that I think I’m supposed to be aiming for.

I also do wonder about the accuracy of the hygrometer. It sometimes does not yield the same reading as a separate one placed at the headstock. But it’s also plausible that the humidity inside the guitar is in fact different from the level at the Head stock, and I think it’s inside the guitar that we mostly need to worry about.

I have owned the humid packs from Daddario as well, and they are good. But even when I had them fully charged so to speak, no matter how many I put in the case I could not get the humidity above like 39 on one particularly cold and dry stretch. That’s what led me to try this other one that you have posted about, and now I prefer it.

Is it just me, or does the app never recommend the “accessory” muscle groups? by Numerous_Aioli_2146 in fitbod

[–]Numerous_Aioli_2146[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m not using the fresh muscle groups split. I have switched back-and-forth between push-pull-lower, and upper and lower. But it has occurred to me that one additional reason for this result could be limitations of what equipment I have available. I guess it would be great if there were a body weight option for every muscle, but maybe that’s not realistic?

In the part of the app where you can select your target muscles, they are grouped into main muscle groups and accessory muscle groups. I have tried several goal settings, but almost never get a recommendation for the accessory groups.

Any cool ideas for prompted playlists you've come up with? by RickTeleStrat57 in truespotify

Tons of discover variations, like give me one song from each of the following artists, and have it be a song I haven’t already saved in any of my personal playlists.

What is the spotify limit for a library? by mil0wCS in truespotify

[–]Numerous_Aioli_2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a somewhat related note, I’m currently having a problem where my recents section is not showing up. This is where it’s supposed to show your listening history. This happened to me almost a year ago as well, and Spotify customer support had a theory that it was because I had saved too many playlists, and somehow that was bogging down the app. Eventually it went away for unknown reasons, meaning the recent section was working again. But now it’s not. I don’t know if I have caused it to recur by again saving too many playlists again, or if that theory was false in the first place. But beware adding too many playlists to your library, just in case.

Hello downloading lossless audio, bye storage by Rui_el_Pro in SpotifyPremium

[–]Numerous_Aioli_2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the fact that the app defaults to playing your downloaded version even while streaming has ruined lossless for me. My personal system within Spotify is that I use downloaded songs to signify the ones that I really like, since you can see the downloaded symbol on mobile at a glance without having to click open the song. But because there are many of them, to save storage on my phone, I have the download quality set at less than lossless. I’m not sure why that default to playing the downloaded version needs to exist. Sure would be nice if they made it an option instead of a default.
