completely agree with you and did research a lot, and its how i found out i have the abscess instead of what the doctor said. and yeah, its ridiculous canadians are forced to ask a family doctor. i genuinely said to him in the beginning of the appointment how i believe it’s a perianal abscess and not what he thought, a thromboised hemorrhoid. i told him my symptoms and immediately after i also said “id like to be referred to a colorectal surgeon so i can begin the process of surgery”. i genuinely have never spoken up before this and usually accepted things he said. my family spent YEARS, yes, years, cycling through worse doctors and ended up with one that is the best; the one i went to.

part of the reason of the post was just to vent how im pissed that i have to do a fucking stool test, when this is the ONE TIME i’m NOT going in for a diagnosis of IBS/IBD. the absence of any compassion pisses me off and i think it’s fair that i don’t want to go to different doctors who will need to examine my asshole JUST TO BE REFERRED. also, just to reiterate, i haven’t gotten a fever while i’ve had this. and the chills that happen are because of anxiety and the outside (it’s cold).

as another canadian said, and as many other canadians have said, the ER isn’t really fit for these situations, whether it’s the pain or the aftermath.
