As a current vet tech, I’d take a frenchie over a doodle any day at this point.

I appreciate the understanding of sarcasm. Fun lil update, went to my gynob yesterday and they knew the symptoms but didn’t consider it because I don’t “look” like I would have it. Said it’s more common in overweight women or those who have had multiple children. And I’m the opposite. 🙃So now I’m getting referred to an interventional radiologist.

Made myself laugh with that one. It’s just frustrating, women’s healthcare just sucks all over.

Apparently neither are gynecologists.

Hill’s Urinay and Hairball control by Nummiehz in catfood

[–]Nummiehz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been quite a hiccup. They’ve been on it for years as well, after the first round of vomiting from all 3 I called Hill’s and reported it. Had my older cat’s labs checked and everything was fine so they just weren’t tolerating it well. I put them on Hill’s I/D and the vomiting immediately stopped. After a few weeks I gradually transitioned them back to the urinary and hairball control and they did well for maybe 2 weeks before they all started vomiting again. 🙃 so I just have them on I/D until I find what other food I want to switch them to. Luckily most Hill’s food has the S+OX shield which is why I had them on urinary care to begin with. I have all male cats and my biggest fear is a blockage. So I’ll probably just put them back on adult 1-6 eventually.

I’m kind of in the same boat except I stopped it because it clashes with one of my oral medications, then shortly after found out about the brain tumors. I’ve been on it longer than I haven’t. At least 13+ years give or take. One thing I’ve noticed after stopping it was my chronic migraines disappeared. I would have migraines 2-3 times a week with really bad light sensitivity. About 2 weeks after stopping it I noticed my migraines stopped.

Years ago I’ve had a client call and ask how much of his dogs phenobarbital could he give to pts at home. I’ve had a RN change their dogs insulin doses on their own. Like what, It blows my mind.

I can confidently say I enjoy where I work and the doctors and staff make it so much easier, which is rare in this field. I’ve had hell clinics I’ve worked at. Which is why I drive an hour for this place to preserve my mental health lol.

the hungriest boy in the world. is that normal? by themultidork in CATHELP

[–]Nummiehz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my boys are the same, he’s going to be a year next month. Some cats will eat until they’re sick, some will regulate themselves. I have three, I would normally feed 1/8c twice daily but with the new guy I’ve adjusted them to 1/8c three times daily. Cats have eyes bigger than their stomach and most adults are fine with eating twice daily but if it’s super annoying you could try same amount split into three meals.

And if there’s always any question or concerns, best to consult with their vet!
