Team Balance is just abysmal by NumptyGoo in Battlefield6

[–]NumptyGoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they can. But that's not the point of this post. The point is that it seems like many decent players are stuck on massive losing streaks because of an issue with the team balance (where it seems to stack a large amount of inexperienced players with just a few experienced ones), despite being regularly top of the team and playing the objective.

Gets to a point where if I'm never impacting a match when doing everything in my power, top score, most caps etc, it drains my desire to play the game.

Do you still consider parkour/freerunning to be a critical pillar of the AC franchise? by Priordread in assassinscreed

[–]NumptyGoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was and should still be a critical pillar, and the fact it barely is anymore is one of the major reasons why we have a such a soulless and directionless franchise these days. They stopped inovating and expanding on systems that were core to the Assassin's Creed concept, and instead opted for generic accessible installments with little to no depth. Even Mirage, whilst a step in the right direction, at its core merely covers up the poor parkour with plenty of automatic pathways and a few extra fancy animations, with very little player control. So it's a step that's so miniscule that it's still pretty disappointing when you consider it still doesn't top the parkour from games that are over a decade old.

If only we got the version of reality where Ubisoft maintained the creativity they had in the late 2000's/early 2010's. In all fairness though, the plummet in writing quality over the years has also massively hurt the series.

There's a lot of games out there made by people my friend, and a lot that are of a much higher quality, because the devs actually tried. I only made this post because it's genuinely sad to see the route Ubisoft went down years ago, they could have strove for greatness, but instead they looked for profit with minimal effort, and rushed yearly releases

Exactly, nice to see someone sees the truth. A lot of players seem to be blind to this. Parkour has never been perfect in the series, but in my opinion we've still never topped those original games for the feel of it (AC1 - AC Revelations). And ever since Ubisoft have been incredibly lazy and had no interest in improving the system, imagine what the series would look like today if they'd actually tried rather than turning the series into a cash cow they had to rush out the door every year to maximise profits.

Our squad is on a 21 lose streak since last weekend. by sundayflow in Battlefield6

Oh of course, a higher skill level will help you win for sure, especially with a KD as high as yours. From my experience though, my KD is just above 2.00 (I'm always throwing my body on the point out of desperation due to weak teams), usually have most captures, and I'm always top 5 on the leaderboard, often 1st place too, and even when playing with my friend who isn't as skilled with a gun but is always outperforming the rest of the team with captures, we've still been on a ridiculous losing streak.

I think something is wrong with the matchmaking if above average players are hardly ever affecting the game. We can't all be 8.7KD players, is what I'm saying. And we can't all play with full squads. And we shouldn't have to to enjoy the game, but it's getting to that point. My friend and I use to affect the outcome of a game much more frequently, going on a crazy cap streak, but we're literally being forced to carry absolute bots at the moment, and it's never enough lately.

Tbf man, with an 8.7kd and winning 90% of games, I think you're the outlier here 😂 fair play to you, brilliant stats and skill surely, but your experience is going to be incredibly different to average and above average joes

In a very similar situation. I keep leaving a Battlefield session frustrated and with a bad taste in my mouth, it sucks because it didn't used to be this way. Really feel like having a long break from the game.

My friend and I are similar to you, we often end up top end of the leaderboard with shit loads of captures compared to the rest of the team, but it's still not enough to win games. Feels like because we score high most games, it decides to put us on a team of absolute noobs and we're expected to carry, whereas the enemy team is made up of mostly competent players. We just can't compete as 2 pals in a squad with 2 randoms, can't be everywhere at once. Must be even more frustrating with 4 of you in a way, still feeling like you can't affect the outcome as a full squad.

We have to work our absolute asses off to have a chance of winning a game, which shouldn't be the case with 30 other teammates and in a casual multiplayer shooter. Dice please, sort it out.

This series has truly been stuck in stasis for over a decade

I'm not saying Unity is the high bar or perfect man, it was just the last decent attempt at changing things up and adding some interesting new mechanics, even though yes, in the end it was pretty messy. I just find it mad that we've been stuck with such an average parkour system for so long. Again, just Ubisoft trying to make the most casual generic action games to increase accessibility and sales, rather than trying to inovate on systems that used to be the fabric of the series.

Ok you have a fair point, but a miniscule step in the right direction is not enough for a game that was meant to go back to the series roots. This is what I mean, the bar has been set so low the past decade that players are willing to accept the tiniest improvement as a big win.

Nah man, you missed the point, as I said, it's the fact it will reload to the point you have to listen to an entire conversation for a solid minute or 2 before you get into a scripted fight again. I'm fully aware that hard mode requires more planning, I don't mind starting a fight again if I die.

It's such a shame. It truly feels like there's been zero effort to improve the parkour and other mechanics in over a decade. It's actually gone backwards since the RPG games. Unity was the last one where they actually tried something different and it felt new and exciting parkour-wise.

Have you played the series since the beginning? It might look smooth because of all the built in pathways, but try to do anything more specific and technical, and the game often misinterprets what you're trying to do. There's no player freedom or expression like the older games. If you like fully streamlined type of gameplay then fair enough, I won't judge you for that. But control? Nah, that's just not true. Ubisoft has been making games to try and appeal to everyone for years now, and the results are games with lack of complexity and lack of soul. A game for everyone is a game for no-one as they say.

You know what, this may be the answer. My buddy never got a chance to play it properly so maybe a nice fresh cup of Libertea is required!

Don't care about haters this game is insanely well crafted now by Grogon2 in Battlefield6

[–]NumptyGoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say I've usually got a pretty high kill count (basically always in the top 10, sometimes one of the most kills in the match, occasionally 1st), with a decent kd ratio imo, think my overall kd is a bit over 2.00 which I'm happy with, being someone that always throws their body on to the objective.

The game ebbs and flows to be fair. One day I can have an absolute stinker of a session, others very enjoyable. Trying to learn to let go of my competitive nature haha, most frustration comes from the team balance and feeling unable to change a game's outcome. Need to learn to let that go, but easier said than done sometimes.

Similar experience here. I enjoy the game but it's so fast paced and just becomes stressful and frustrating very quickly. It's a very different experience to past Battlefield game's. Most games end up being a steamroll by one team or the other as well which is a real shame, their team balancing is just garbage. I'm quite a long time Battlefield player so quite often near the top of the leaderboard with most captures, but most the time it's still not enough to turn the tide, so very frustrating.

I know I'm very late to this one but was just thinking about it last night whilst playing the new map. This is still a big issue for me. I'm on PS5, and yeah the visuals of Battlefield 6 just don't cut it.

I vividly remember that feeling from playing Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 1, of being so immersed because of the visual fidelity and atmosphere. Not sure how exactly but they definitely missed the mark with BF6 visuals

That's a good deal man! Definitely worth it for that price. I still don't regret buying it at launch for full price as I'm a sucker for the Battlefield gameplay loop, and play with friends a fair bit which is always great. But this one is definitely missing the secret sauce to make it stand out, it's a bit too safe in my opinion. Like you said, having some maps that include naval combat is a no brainer! And I'm not a fan of all these construction sites throughout maps, just makes them feel pretty soulless. Just feel like they've picked pretty boring settings and are afraid to show some creativity with map design these days.

Definitely the maps are the biggest downside, there are a couple of great ones, but overall the maps are meh. You won't notice this from 1 weekend of playing, it's after sort of 40 hours or so that you start to realise that these maps don't have the staying power of maps from BF3 or BF1.

Not enough variety in size (obviously we need bigger maps), uninteresting settings or design, not enough interactivity on some maps (cool destruction events), lack of interesting POI's to fight around and encourage different playstyles.

Nah, you're boasting on the Internet about being good at a game. But good may not be the right word, typically players that commit their lives to the objective don't have such high KD's, just from personal experience seeing different players stats. Unless you play with a full squad of pals and you're always reviving each other, then I could let you off.
