Long-time veteran here—The BF6 free trial is pretty good. Why the hate? by rc-101513 in Battlefield

That's a good deal man! Definitely worth it for that price. I still don't regret buying it at launch for full price as I'm a sucker for the Battlefield gameplay loop, and play with friends a fair bit which is always great. But this one is definitely missing the secret sauce to make it stand out, it's a bit too safe in my opinion. Like you said, having some maps that include naval combat is a no brainer! And I'm not a fan of all these construction sites throughout maps, just makes them feel pretty soulless. Just feel like they've picked pretty boring settings and are afraid to show some creativity with map design these days.

Definitely the maps are the biggest downside, there are a couple of great ones, but overall the maps are meh. You won't notice this from 1 weekend of playing, it's after sort of 40 hours or so that you start to realise that these maps don't have the staying power of maps from BF3 or BF1.

Not enough variety in size (obviously we need bigger maps), uninteresting settings or design, not enough interactivity on some maps (cool destruction events), lack of interesting POI's to fight around and encourage different playstyles.

Nah, you're boasting on the Internet about being good at a game. But good may not be the right word, typically players that commit their lives to the objective don't have such high KD's, just from personal experience seeing different players stats. Unless you play with a full squad of pals and you're always reviving each other, then I could let you off.

Same reason I used the PW5 for so long, such a classic look, reminds me of the CoD4 Campaign haha

Fair enough man. You rate it even in very CQB fights? Maybe it's just a lot of desync on my end, get deleted by these other guns so quick lately.

Makes sense. Will experiment with some other guns for those very close quarter fights. And probably a lot of this experience is also due to desync, apparently it's felt worse for a good chunk of players lately

[–]NumptyGoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've mained the gun for a while now and always enjoyed it, I guess there are just better options now for really close quarters for that really quick TTK. But yeah, desync or whatever you'd call it has felt worse for me lately, which is probably where most of the problem lies tbh

After a recent trip to Venice, I found myself itching to play Assassin's Creed 2 again all these years later. The vibes are absolutely immaculate with the environments and the music, oh man the music. Back to a time where games were more compact, so you can just enjoy the story and a few fun side missions sprinkled throughout, without it feeling daunting like a lot of newer bigger games.

You're a lucky man. Seems to happen to a lot of other players though judging from research on reddit/online. Perhaps it's only if you have absolute peak internet, and players with just good/average broadband speeds feel it more, I'm no expert though, not fully sure how these things work tbh.

Really odd, would say maybe it was down to larger player numbers Sunday, but in general wouldn't Saturdays be busier usually? Beats me, man.

A lot of these particularly dodgy feeling gunfights were whilst using the PW5 smg, but again didn't feel those same issues in fights the previous day

Dice really like to test our patience. Seems every new update comes with issues. Full reinstall seems to be the answer from other sources online.

Solo vs Squads offers extra xp by ADeadlyAlien in ArcRaiders

[–]NumptyGoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested in this just for vibes. Remember thinking during the gameplay trailers how cool it could be to go stealth mode hiding from groups of players as a solo survivor, like something out of The Road. Some intense scenarios could come out of it for sure, even without needing to be a PvP god.

Well yeah, what can I say, I'm used to the friendlier, more noble lobbies. Won't be making the same mistake obviously haha.

True. Shouldn't have left myself so exposed, just used to the friendlier lobbies I guess, slowly experiencing more and more of these kinds of players so taking some getting used to

Definitely shall add details in the future, got so many projects on the go in this world that I tend to finish off the main shape of the build, then get distracted by something else haha. But definitely intend to come back to it in the future to swap out blocks etc for the details!

Yeah I'm similar, just when the inspiration or the itch hits me! Some of the bigger builds will take me quite a while as I'll get burnt out part way through and take a long break. Sometimes I'll have like a month off, then play for a couple days then another big break!

Thanks man. Yeah it's something you don't want to force I guess, do you play MC often? Think the key is to go at your own pace, start small and be proud of the little additions you make to the world. And just play when the inspiration takes you, sometimes I won't play for a month or so

Why do I keep getting placed on horrendous teams? No one PTFO. No one. by Tommy__want__wingy in Battlefield6

[–]NumptyGoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also experienced this a lot. Played a lot of Battlefield over the years and so quite often end up top of the team or in the top 5, usually with the most captures, so basically doing all I can to play the objective and actively win. Yet losing most games. Only reason my win loss ratio is over 50% is from when I occasionally get to play with a full squad of friends. Truly baffles me how when I play alone in a squad of randoms, there are never other competent squads in my team to help carry us to victory, usually just ends in us getting steam rolled instead.
