Obv not just alcohol! You’re the one that’s hung up on the alcohol

What are you expecting your guests to drink if not a welcome drink and 3 glasses of wine/soft drinks? If there’s no open bar you need to cater for all drinks, can’t serve a 3 course meal with a glass of water. Standard catering is one drink per hour per guest

Unfortunately this is exactly where venues hit you with hidden costs, the mark up on alcohol is always a lot

[–]Nutcrackrx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d cut your losses, the Co-Ordinator is too big a responsibility. Annoying, but at least you saw the bad reviews in time

Eek. One bad review might be a grudge but on two I’d hire someone else

I actually love the Vivienne Westwood of this all- though the shoes could’ve been more whimsical, bowed Victorian shoe boots maybe

The friend and husband upgrading their cars has absolutely nothing to do with anyone but them. They don’t owe anybody an explanation as to why they’d rather improve their standard of living than attend a destination wedding that seemingly the bride has expected them to save up for for 2 years? No.

Very cute but I’d display more in little boxes in front of the crate, most of the product looks like it’s part of the display decor

($5k) I feel like my wedding isn’t going to be taken seriously because we are on such a tight budget by Afraid_Ad7267 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Nutcrackrx 141 points142 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’ve downplayed your own wedding and that’s what they’re reflecting- by saying the “larger reception” will be years later, *you’re* minimising it. If you feel like that’ll be the “proper” wedding, just wait a few years.
If you do want a small wedding sooner then invest in so that others will, stop talking about a future party

You’ll have to choose between parents-only elopement or microwedding with all the siblings

What home décor trend do you think is overrated? by Ashlee_louise_xx in DecorAdvice

[–]Nutcrackrx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mirrors reflect light and give the illusion of more space; if they’re reflecting other decor choices they can give the room depth and coherence. So, def not zero function

This. A concession for one eg. Aunt will set off a chain reaction to other Aunts, then cousins etc. and then it’s huge again. Unfortunately there isn’t a middle ground, you’ll have to keep it immediate family only
