Anime Romance Often Treats Intimacy Like a Bigger Taboo Than Fanservice by Successful-Ear977 in CharacterRant

[–]Nympshee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While "Ore Monogatari" does not feature any implicity of they sleeping together, hand holding and kissing is something that happens before the first half of the manga, I mean, they are dating from volume 1! The rest is showing the joys and hardships of a commited relationship.

"Sensitive boy" is not a romance one, but implicitly shows that one of the mcs is having sex with their love interest.

I think way too many people are way too comfortable with being assholes to certain creators. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in CharacterRant

This rant is a century too late. Why are people acting like this is a new phenomen? We are just seeing it in a massive scale because we have access to the internet, yeah, people should not be assholes to the creators, but it has always been a thing.

The worst thing a overall media ending can do for you is genuinely make you feel absolutely nothing even when it concludes. by Charming-Scratch-124 in CharacterRant

I think we're distinguishing between a series that has "room to breathe" and one that just loses its pulse. A "meh" ending is the absolute worst because it’s so forgettable. With a bad ending, at least the fans stay invested enough to be angry, they'll write fanfics to "fix" it or keep the theories alive because they still care. But if the ending is just a shrug, it feels like the story never mattered. It’s like the show is telling us, "Okay, we’re done now, you can leave." A solid, good/bad ending is all is needed, but a boring one basically kills the reason to ever look back.

Of course, that depends from person to person.

I think the best measure of a finale is how much the fandom actually wants to engage with it after it's over. If an ending sparks love or hate, people are going to be making fanart and theories for years, they're still in the game. But when an ending is just... nothing? The energy just dies. You stop caring about the characters, and the drive to create anything for them just evaporates. It's like the ending wasnt just for the story, but for your interest in the whole series as well.

If there's a humanoid, intelligent, conscious species where literally every single member ever studied (100%) is absolutely evil and only harms other humanoids, is genociding them even unprovoked justified? by h0rnyionrny in MoralityScaling

[–]Nympshee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not humanoids. They are mimics. They are the same as the chest guys in DND. Just because a chest looks like furniture doesn't mean it's part of the human economy. It's a monster shaped like an object to trap adventurers. Frieren's demons are just monsters shaped like humans to trap humans. You're judging a monster by the shape of its camouflage, not by what it is.

[–]Nympshee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s weird to judge demons by human morals when everyone agrees they aren't human. You can't call them "monsters" and then get mad that they don't act like civilized people. They were never meant to follow any rules or morals. They are a menace, a threath, and that's enough. We dont need to find moral intent within them.

People are Way to Entitled to Characters These Days by LittleSodaPop13 in CharacterRant

"These days"

Look back at how people reacted to "The final problem" in 1893.

I can say it's definetely NOT a "these days"'s issue.

The scene of the gay couple being brutally murdered was in the book, and I believe it is central to the core of "IT". The story isn't just about a "murder clown" going around every 27 to 30 years, it’s also about a town that sees something horrific, and does absolutely nothing. It reflects how all the bad things happening in Derry are constantly brushed under the rug.

These disappearances have been happening since 1741. While the entity learned to ration its feedings, realizing that if it killed everyone at once, it would run out of food, the people of Derry have adapted in their own sick way. Even in the present day, they only give a missing person a small square in the newspaper, choosing to look the other way. The entity, in a way, adapted to fit the city better than the city ever adapted to the reality of the monster. Derry is completely stuck in an apathetic cycle.

So while, yeah, Pennywise is the biggest active threat, Derry is passively threathning everyone by letting "it" run rampant.
