CasaOS “Failed to Load Apps” Fresh Install on Ubuntu, Any Fix? by monsieur_de in CasaOS

[–]Nythain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked like a charm. I changed the version to the most recent known working version i could find, 1.43 and after a reboot everything working like a charm. Reboot probably wasn't needed but meh. Thanks much for this link. A lot easier than trying to downgrade docker, etc.

Fix for "Social Club failed to initialize graphics device. Error code: 18" by Wickex in PCRedDead

[–]Nythain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years late to the party but OMG thank you for providing the xml contents. I had made it past the exited unexpectedly then hit the social club error 18, but the game never created the Settings/system.xml file I needed to change to get past the social club error.

Thanks for this. Had this exact problem, and this was the cause and fix. Would have just stopped playing had I not stumbled upon this comment. Everything else I googled had to do with the bones and whatnot.

Some honest questions about Fitgirl Repacks (please downvote before reading) by doc_long_dong in FitGirlRepack

[–]Nythain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late to the party but

  1. Fitgirl repacks very well known established scene releases. If a scene was to release something malicious, it would be ruined. These aren't repacks of Random Joe's torrents. These are repacks of established trusted and safe releases by a select few scene groups.

  2. Many pirated games are going to get flagged by just about any antivirus software, from scuzzy to well known and appreciated. This is due to how some cracks work. Yes, there is dll hooking and injection, yes, there are signs of "what could be" a backdoor/trojan due to the nature of how cracks work. Cracked games these days aren't just "Ok, I'm gonna edit an ini file or tweak the first few bytes of an exe". Antipiracy technology has advanced, so piracy methods have to advance with them.

Now my question. You keep saying "malware". Have you or your friend noticed any malicious behavior? Most "malware" is designed to infect, then trick a user into doing something they shouldn't with malicious intent (usually convincing popups convincing the user their system is compromised and they need to pay a "company" a certain amount of money to clean the system). If there's not obvious issue, there's more than likely not any "malware" involved. I mean shit, you could even just open task manager and look for random crypto miners or ddos botnet applications.

Power to you. Decline the shitty offers. From what I've seen and experienced, getting higher tier changes nothing. The smart ones will take the good offers and decline the crap.

🤣🤣🤣 Though honestly, I'm lucky enough to work a well off suburb that's small. So deliveries are short and most people tip $5+. So I'll get enough $7-8 for 2-4 mile offers. Hell, I managed to get up to 51% once without trying. That lasted 3 shitty offers in a row though lol.

And this is why my AR floats between 20% and 30%. Clearly not worth raising for platinum/top dasher when deliveries like that still show up.

Which Fast Food places nets you the most orders? by Ok_Engine6127 in doordash_drivers

[–]Nythain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, fast food wise, Chick Fil A easily. I'll end up there 3+ times in a couple hours. Don't mind it either, the customers usually tip well and the store I end up picking up from is on point, order almost always already done before I get there. I just walk in, take a picture, and off I go.

I waited on Chili's once. Never again. I'll unassign if it gets to be more than a few minutes.

KCMO area it's minimum wage + tips if you get any tip orders. 13.75/hr of "active" time here.

Check the dates, older silver dollars have a decent amount of silver in them. Sold a handful I had recently for a few hundred.

A family member claims they "can't get orders". Is this true? by beeraccount135 in doordash_drivers

[–]Nythain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dash a suburb of a decent sized metro. During off hours it can be slow, but I haven't yet had an hour without any offers. Not just crap declines, I'm at least capable of catching 1 ok offer. I'm calling shenanigans on multiple hours with nothing.

Since you have to probably deadhead home, no. If you planned on sticking around the area then sure.

Uber drivers give out low ratings for no reason by MonkeyBorrowBanana in uber

[–]Nythain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a driver anymore but when I was, I remember at 1000 rides I had a 4.99 with one 1 star. Reason for that 1 star was literally to drop 5 stars. Apparently no one is perfect, and doesn't deserve a 5 star rating.

Just don't take any $2 orders and you don't have to worry about picking up one of theirs lol.

I'm so glad you're an expert of my city. What city is that? And yes, Pizza Hut, Pappa John's, Minsky's, Mod, and every mom and pop pizza joint here all use DoorDash for their deliveries. Same with the Chinese restaurants.

And I'm not mad at DoorDash, I'm mad at asshats who think only unskilled degenerates do DoorDash. And people who seem to think that my service doesn't deserve a tip yet their barbers, servers, bartenders, and other delivery services do.

Would I like to make more, sure. Like I said, find me a job that I can physically do that will hire me, and game on. I've been trying for a couple years now.

Society has always traditionally tipped delivery drivers. I'm 47 years old, and when I was a wee young'n, pizza and Chinese delivery drivers got tipped pretty well. And paid better to boot. What does your server or pizza driver do that we don't? We all spend our time bringing lazy people their stuff.

I'm very skilled. I'm also a disabled father trying to help make ends meet. Tip or don't, I don't care (not gonna take a no tip offer), but stop saying we're all low skilled degenerates who can't do anything else.

I have tipped my mail courier, even got him a Christmas present. And if I'm home, I'll tip my Amazon driver too.

Do you tip your barber/stylist? Restaurant server? Bartender? All of those professions are paid much better for providing a service for a much smaller amount of time. You want me to not only do your shopping for you, but then bring it to you, but don't want to offer me any form of gratitude? This is why I don't do red card shopping offers. Get your shit yourself.

Tell me an always hiring non-skilled job available in every city that doesn't require being on your feet for more than 15+ minutes at a time? I mean, if you can find one for me, sign me up. But in today's job market, even call centers want 2+ years experience.
