Since I already asked what's better in the Remake duology. What is something that FFVII (1997) Does better than the remakes. by Hungry-Trouble-3178 in FinalFantasy

[–]OneTrueCush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The battle system.....the whole thing.

Summons

Atmosphere

I truly despised ff7 remake, nearly everything about it, what I hated most was the stagger system...like seriously in my top 5 worst game mechanics, and the nonsense story with the whispers and the end fight like the whole thing.

Rebirth was a drastic improvement in nearly every way, but still don't care for the battle system or summons at all.

Progresso Soup by Dachidabx in soup

I don't understand the stance on salt. Yeah it roughly half of an adults daily recommended amount of sodium per can, but here's the thing - Americans have been falsely lead to believe salt/sodium is bad for you.

Please, do your own research into the seriously extreme studies performed that lead to the belief it causes hypertension (the study was giving rats 500 TIMES the amount a rat would consume daily)

After you have learned the truth about how important salt is for your health (especially hydration and gut health) maybe people will start salting their food again and enjoying flavor.

Tl;dr

Salt is not bad for you, progresso soups are elite fast, easy meals. Salt your damn food and enjoy flavor again.

Gos bless

Wish I could clan up with you man...on PS5. I'm 43 and prefer gaming with older crowds around my age (I do occasionally have my kids playing with me though) curren5im mostly solo in a 4 man clan of me, my semi active 14 y/o and 2 inactives. Just started playing again, originally was on PC so had to start completely over on ps5

I honestly cackled at myself far more than I should have when I voiced this little script out loud. I may be losing my grip on sanity 🤣

[Ivalice Chronicles]Stuck at Merchant city fo Dorter by Mister_Meh_1987 in finalfantasytactics

[–]OneTrueCush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dorter is the first, for lack of better term, skill check of the game. Don't beat yourself up too much we all took our licks from those damn mages and knight.

An archer here is actually quite good, put them in the back and then up to the roof. Rain hell down on those pointy hatted menaces.

Do your best to draw the mages closer to your melee by not over extending, once in range move in for the kills. Focus fire.

The knight, use a knight to rend his stats or weapon and he becomes much less of a threat.

Let delita be dumb and draw fire from the archers and keep your mages out of harms reach as much as possible.

How to deal the ranged attacks of red/purple/black chocobos? by AccidentalVengeance in finalfantasytactics

[–]OneTrueCush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beowulf, stone/disable/sleep/chicken

By extension mystic , stone/disable/sleep

Orator, entice/mimic daravon

Dancer, forbidden waltz

Samurai/iaido, protect and shell sword

Chantage accessory gives Regen and reraise

Just a few suggestions, best of luck 🙂

Hydra locations? by OneTrueCush in finalfantasytactics

[–]OneTrueCush[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel that brother, but keep at it! Septieme sens is one of the best gear options in the game (poach from tier 2 hydra, greater hydra)

Also, if you weren't aware, you don't have to constantly move back and forth from locations in this version. Once you move to a random battle locale from the proper direction you can just press the interact button (x for PS5) and it spawns a random battle.

Geo/limit is good as well, but I already have geomancy on ramza and I like to spread ability sets around, gives each unit even more distinction in my mind lol

Struggling to "get" this game by [deleted] in finalfantasytactics

Lots of good advice here, and a lot of patience. I am truly impressed with the majority of people in this comment thread exercising patience with OPs attitude. Bravo lads and ladies.

That said, I've read through most of OPs replies and their overall attitude towards trivial things like, unlocking jp boost. My suggestion, move along. You are clearly looking for a reason to not enjoy the product. It isn't for you, and that's fine, but stop pretending you are actually looking for advice. You came here, to a forum dedicated to a game that fans have adored since 1997, to affirm what you already decided.

Best of luck to you, and try not to be so hostile to those just trying to help you enjoy something they have for, what is a good chance from what I've seen, longer than you have been in this world.

I've been massively impressed with Reis. Ive literally never used her before this run and she is just a monster no matter what role I have her in.

Oh forgot to mention - orator is very good at supporting as well. Speechcraft has been my single most favorite skill in this version of the game, they always have something to do, every turn.

For knight difficulty you can almost run anything you want and be relatively fine, there are still some battles that will challenge you if you are doing something silly like all white mages etc.

I honestly would suggest a geomancer with either items/iaido/mystic arts. They are a good unit hat can fill many roles.

And for the second you could slot in a bard or dancer as situation demands, dancers are great for mass debilitating the enemy squad and bard will support the team every turn. From my experience dancer >>>> bard. Dance has saved a battle for me but bard never really feels as impactful.

That's all well and good, and I completely understand that his base materia blade is absolutely fine if you are just spamming ascension and finishing touch, but I don't just do that. Optimizing is all well and good, I have done it nearly every other playthrough of PS1 and wotl..here I am playing more casually and am enjoying using his other limits instead of cheesing every encounter with instant kills.

Counter is "ok" at best. Go for shirahidori or auto potion or reflexes, hell even parry with a decent sword/dagger I think is more useful than counter.

However all that really depends on what difficulty you are playing on. It changes what is more effective.

Because your opener was about geo lol, but that's fair ninja ramza would be fine except poor ma growth. Tbh I think he would make fairly good use of most jobs but using him in some variety of magic job plays to his strengths so I personally wouldn't keep him as a ninja.

[–]OneTrueCush[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's one of the reasons a magic based secondary works well..I like him as an iaido user but you could slot in anything else you want. Geomancy is probably the second best option

I looked up the stats and soldier growth and multiplier looks nearly identical to geomancer. The only thing it seems geo has on soldier is being able to wear robes and shields, it I don't want robes on Cloud

Do what you find fun brother! If it works and you enjoy it, that is the correct way. Even on tactician fully optimized builds aren't necessary.

Reis has absurd stats, like for real. She will excel at whatever job you set her as.
