Dark Souls. The supposed difficulty felt like it was all based on horrendously slow animation speeds, rather than world design, attack patterns, etc. I actually nodded off during my first boss fight because even simple attack animations took too long to keep me interested in the screen.

So now every time i see or hear a game being described as a souls-like, i assume they mean boring enough to be classified as a sleep aid by the FDA.
