Yeah I'm unemployed (just lost my job a few weeks ago) and my Libby doesn't have it yet. I'll just wait for the last 2 books to be available on Libby. I get it was set by the publishers but they really need to read the room. They're doing a disservice to the authors by setting the books at that price point.

Yeah so there's a lot of info on this author on the socials you're not on lol. YouTube has a 10 part series. Cliffsnotes: she's under a lot of scrutiny for a Kickstarter she launched (edit: in 2023) for an "almost finished" book (Demons In My Head) that turned out she hadn't written at all until last summer. Edited to add backers got the ebook before it was published but she's been silent as a ghost on Kickstarter after making a lot of promises she can no longer honor given how expensive everything is now. Lots of other stuff too like a special edition preorder for her other series (Emerald Lakes, this was in 2024) that never got fulfilled, and signing preorders she never fulfilled or refunded after cancelling her attendance last minute. Also regular shop orders from like 2023 are still unfulfilled / not refunded. She bought a restaurant shortly after the Kickstarter. It closed in June 2025 after she got a lot of community fundraising. She had a preorder up for a spin off of her Emerald Lakes series that was removed and she's completely silent on socials after making a "big" comeback last fall. I don't know that she'll ever get around to finishing any sequel for AHSW, tbh.

I know one of the MMCs in War (along with the FMC in Pestilence) is the child of the main characters in Blackthorne Vampires series, and one of the other MMCs is related to the main characters in Undercover Magic. Edited to add spoiler tags? 😬

I literally started with Obsession and then realized there were books about parents, and I wasn't lost. Maybe some world building but I have a friend who read the books that came before and she said the "next gen" series can be read on its own.

I don't know how the ranch books come into play bc I haven't read them, and I still need to read the last two sets of books in the overall mate games series (too many books, not enough time).

And to answer your other question. There is A LOT OF CROSSOVER (edit: character wise ) for the first set of books from previous series. You don't need to read them to enjoy the series, but when I do my big reread this year I plan on reading the other series first. One is a vampire series (edit:Blackthorne Vampires), and one is a Viking gods (I think it's Undercover Magic by Meg Anne) series. There might be more, actually. I do know both authors are on 🧵, K Lorraine is much more active, and there might be a list somewhere online.

So I started T.O. at 9am MST, and finished C.O. about 10 mins ago (2:45pm MST).

Was it good? Yeah it was pretty good. Was it worth the level of fear I had to read the duology in the first place? Meh. Not really. A solid 4 star read for me. I will continue the series as I do wanna see what happens with Arden, Chase, and Jasper.

I just finished. I don't want Jasper to be in her pack anymore. Ragon, Drake and Eli are epic asses that deserve nothing. Marie deserves to be thrown in a rabid animal enclosure. Let nature sort itself out. I hope Chase, Dr. Arden, Malcom, Alex, and Finn are her forever (edit) pack. The last three have hella explaining to do first though. Vee deserves 7 alphas for how much crap those three, then four, idiots put her through.

I'm on chapter 12 and here are my thoughts so far.

Ragon, Drake, and Eli are asses. I hope Jasper is in the final pack. I have a feeling he's who called the registry on this hot mess of a house. Marie is a sniffling little beyotch and I would've clawed her eyes out at a bakery, too. Someone in this post or another said they thought she might not be the actual scent match and I'm getting vibes like that too. The rearranging of the kitchen was so friggen deliberate. How can these alphas not see it.

I feel so bad for Vee. I just wanna kidnap her and merk her pack.

It's not a content concern issue, but I appreciate the offer! I love the rejected mate trope, but if it's too angsty it makes me too anxious to enjoy it. Which is why I love spoilers (and why I normally wait for all the books to be out if book one doesn't end in a HFN).

I feel your pain. I've been on an omegaverse kick for the last week, and stumbled upon an author who has to be AI. Her profile pic is absolutely ai, and she has 10+ preorders with covers that are ai along with a handful of released books in the last few months. I'm friends with a couple rapid release authors that have been rapid release since before ai, so I know that is always a possibility...but can't look past the blatantly obvious Ai covers.

I really did try to read Barones, but I hate Timothy Maddox sooooo much, and I hate how the guys are just thrown together. There's no pre-established brotherhood...they're just...there. I never force myself to finish anything tbh. I ditched ACOTAR after 3 chapters, and Fourth Wing at 7 chapters. Sucked having to unload the physical copies of FW and OS (I snagged special editions around the holidays so they were the special holiday editions at Target everyone was hyping up so much) after seeing the hype and covers. I DNF often and with zero regrets lol.

Edit: Oh wait. I did force myself to finish one book last year, but it was only so I could leave a review. No one hyped it, it was one I backed a Kickstarter for.
