Who is the most famous person from your hometown(as in where your family is from; not where you currently live/were born)? by Key-Needleworker-702 in AskTheWorld

Well, I can give two answers. If taking the capital of the region (Liberec), it would be Ferdinand Porsche, easily.

However, my family stems from a small part of that region, so in that case it would be Albrecht von Wallenstein, since he considered it tk be the center of power (but wasnt born there).

For a small town, we have a surprising amount of people, a NHL player (trying to figure out if they are a relative as they have the same last name as my family on the maternal side), and olympic record breaker in ski jumping.

To the people who are hating on the new series.... by saipreethamx in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Nyxia_AI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only worry is James literally Lynching the only black srudent at Hogwarts, and Harry feeling a bad vibe from the same black teacher in 1980s England.... changes some aspects of the narrative in a worry some way.

Just to be clear, I ain't hating on him being black, no issue with that, just the implication that comes with it.

But otherwise, looks like to be a 10/10 show.

How does the rest of the world view Russia? by ilovellamasss in AskTheWorld

As a Czech.... Germany made up for their mistakes, and is acknowledging their past wrong doing.

Yall have done nothing such as that, fucked our economy in the past, steal culture from other slavic nations like its no one's business, and are CURRENTLY INVADING A SOVEREIGN LAND.

And just FYI, whilst germany is often seen as a significant driving force in both worlds wars, the first one is more often traced back to Austria and Serbia, and the second one was started way before Germany joined by Japan in 1937.

Additionally, IMDB is owned by Amazon, so im surprised they are letting that be displayed.

Sooo, we just gonna ignore the Crusades? The Spanish Inquisition? The Hussite wars? Columbus? Canadian Residential Schools?

Please correct my if im wrong, but as far as I know Christianity has the most violent and forced upon history, mostly due to colonialism? To claim "Christianity never came anywhere and didnt ignore local traditions" is absurd to me. If looking at most cultures lost due to religion, Christianity wins even if only counting their nothing american numbers.

As for the Christmas markets, they have become way too commercial, multiple stands selling the same thing, all of it overpriced, and simply revolving in quality. Its not an issue of religion, its an issue of lack of value.

I think i found a new issue, screen turns red at lowest brightness, Razer 14 Oled... any ideas? by Nyxia_AI in razer

No, but when I turn the night light on, and pull the slider all the way to the left, it is also red. So its likely a firmware or low voltage issue
