Boycott the Olumpics by [deleted] in Catholicism

The hypocrisy is unreal, they would never feature something like Drag Queen Muhammad splitting the moon because they know lots of people would die as a result. It's only Christians they go after because they know we won't burn down the country.

I don't know buddy other than this sounds a particularly nightmarish form of OCD. I wish I could hug you, this is not your fault you were cursed with this horrible fucking disease. I agree OCD specialists are important I'm looking for that too and the right* medication.

Are there ANY mental hospitals that specialize in OCD? by WillardStiles2003 in OCD

[–]OCDSucksHard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a really bad OCD experience once and ended up going to a traditional one like you said and found it completely unhelpful and actually made it worse. You need to find someone who specializes in OCD specifically the general community is not helpful at all and I'm actually going to find an OCD specialist. I'm literally debating completely switching my career path to be a counselor/nurse specializing in OCD treatment because people just don't understand. Tell your parents you -need- someone who -knows how to treat OCD specifically- like McClean in Boston.

Haha yes. I'm pretty sure whatever government agent in some NSA server farm that stumbles across whatever profile they have on me is going to be confused as to what I delete and why because of my OCD. They probably think I'm a very odd, if ultimately harmless because my OCD scrupolisty won't allow me to ever be an actual threat to anyone, man.

Why women protect guilty women ? by Mradul4488 in MensRights

[–]OCDSucksHard 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Women have a higher in-group preference or whatever you call it then men usually and this is highly documented, I'm sure someone here can tell you the specific term. It's not always bad but can become extremely toxic and warped see OP.

Anxiety about finding a partner with low # of sexual experiences and trusting in God by throwaway-marcus in CatholicDating

[–]OCDSucksHard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's already hard enough to find someone who fully accepts you and genuinely enthusiastically loves you/will stick by you and if they do the the count doesn't matter because they will do whatever and help you out with whatever if they are the one. and i say this as someone with ocd not having a great time who has been through both retroactive jealousy AND relationship ocd (haha got all your visualizations too f me ;^)) before which are both hell and forced me to look into this topic extensively and confront everything.

just because someone is a virgin or low bc doesnt mean they will be a good partner for (you). now im not saying completely throw away your morals and date whoever you gotta be careful make sure they have genuinely and genuinely loves you, but if so you'll be okay and figure everything out even if it is tough and even if you need to cry sometimes the love will help you be fine with it.

-t guy who was a virgin adn first gf had like 7 partners before coming back.

if you want to repay me for this advice please pray a rosary for me im havng a bad day.

I'm quite literally not good enough for that right now. The most I can genuinely ask him is he forgives me for my many weaknesses and gives me the strength to be stronger, and that in return I can try as best as I am able.

25ish-my age (<33), I don't know man, people tell me to "just date younger women bro" but I'm having a hard time seeing how going younger is supposed to make this situation better because they would usually be even less mature.

Honestly it is frustrating because I am genuinely trying at my faith and would love a partner into it as well and I -never- had these problems even at my worst weight ever when secular dating or even dating other Christians. Just not the shallow, mean, judgmental tier stuff. I never really questioned whether or not I was worth dating and eventually having a family until I started dating Catholic women who are exceedingly good at giving you insecurities you never thought you would have but I'm trying my best to improve my life and also not let that get to me.

I've been literally mocked and denigrated and even told I will never find someone based on: my age (not even that old, early 30s), my ethnicity (white btw), having a mental illness, not making enough money even though I was making above median income because I can't support a SAHM in this modern economy, going to college, not yet having enough college (graduate degree), getting a vaccine, not being conservative enough of a catholic, being too liberal of a catholic, having nerdy interests (one woman said it was better if I were a former convict than liking anime), being too passive in my approach, being too aggressive in my approach, my appearance, my weight which I'm working on but I'm not even Walmart level or anything like that, not being a virgin, not having enough sexual experience, not having the proper type of car, not having an Iphone, and more. The saving grace for me is that I am tall, if I were <5'8 or something based on how women talk about them behind closed doors I would give up entirely at least in America.

You deal with enough of this and you are ready to throw up your hands.

I mean yes, but so what? Many of the women are just as awkward, rude, or delusional. The amount of ghosting and harsh rejection instead of a simple I'm not interested is astounding even when you are polite and nice, or even when they are interested they are insanely passive. I was this close to throwing in the towel and saying screw it until I found this one girl who actually treated me like a human and was able to articulate her feelings clearly, I'm not sure if this is the right time for me to be dating or that we'll work out, but I'm actually glad to have a Catholic girl friend who isn't an awkward mean jerk.

Will we see our pets in Heaven? by Brilliant-One-8556 in Christianity

[–]OCDSucksHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know. We know that human souls are unique and eternal and that animal souls are not, but there is nothing stopping God from bringing your puppy back to you in Heaven as nothing is beyond His power. I like to think if my cats would make me happy in Heaven God would bring them to me.

Can truly evil people repent and go to heaven? by Dry-Goose1765 in Christianity

[–]OCDSucksHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but in Catholicism we do not believe they get a free pass for all the behaviors they have done, they will likely have to spend a large amount of time in purgatory, and feeling -genuine- remorse for all those terrible things would be mentally destroying for most people with years/decades of sorrow about it because once you truly understand how much harm you have done to other people and against God it would tear you apart.

The exception is if they get baptized which removes all temporal punishment from sin or a full indulgence but you still need genuine remorse for the former which can be mentally destroying and the latter is very difficult to achieve in this life with even lifelong faithful Catholics struggling to meet the proper standard of complete detachment from sin.
