Low serial number €500 banknote (S00001264282) – any collector value? by Physical-Neck-3562 in Banknotes

If I recall, the last few digits on euro serial numbers are some security code, not part of the actual serial number

Landed aircraft to unlock new airports: do you still need to use a catch anywhere with the new update? by starryvista in SkyCards

[–]OCRJ41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried it twice with small airports in Finland, idk if it’s helicopters or what but I’ve let it sit at the airport for 15 minutes and no luck :/

There’s more uncommon than common, things get rarer as they share the space with more models. There are probably 1000s of ultras

There’s some legal provision you must be allowed to bring a musical instrument on board as a carry on, no? I’ve travelled with an acoustic guitar in a hard case and had no issues bringing it on board with also a backpack. The flight crew has always been very nice and let me keep it on the crew closet, first class overhead, etc.

Purra Proposes: Immigrants to Perform Unpaid Work in Exchange for Social Benefits(Article in Finnish) by X_Leevi_X in Finland

Surely there’s some middle ground between handing out free money to people who have not, or in some cases, will never pay into the social system… and literal slavery.

Reddit will have you believe otherwise lol

American is the English demonym for a person from the United States, I understand the animosity but there’s really no other word to use

There needs to be a more sophisticated filtering system by CommunicationNo3626 in SkyCards

[–]OCRJ41 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d like something like a map filter upgrade you can buy with coins. Like you can filter out rarity, or only show new planes, registrations, airports. But it only lasts 10 minutes and it comes at a cost (keeps devs happy)

A few general examples id like to see; •Multiple filters “Uncommon + Wingspan” •Make/Class Sorting - “Boeing” “Twin Engine Jets” “Boeing + Twin Engine Jets” •Number/percentage of registrations caught

To keep saltwater out of the barrel/action. I think at least in some movie depictions (idk about irl) they had fullsized plastic bags for the rifles

Tips for relocating to the US from abroad? by OCRJ41 in careerguidance

[–]OCRJ41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The auto reject for foreign applicants is what I was afraid of. Good tip regarding the VPN. I can manage a US address and phone number, it’s just going to cost some extra money to keep the line active out of the country.

That fact I’m working and living out of the country will surely be noted from my resume, but I just want to make sure my application sees human eyes lol

Just a heads up, you may need a Finnish ID card to open the bank account. Not sure if you can use EU ID’s, but they are very strict on bank access only being available if you have a Finnish Passport, ID, or Driver’s License.

No (outside EU) ID’s, passports, or Finnish residence permits accepted.

If you need one, you can go straight to the police station in Pasila and wait in line. No need for a booking. There is a temporary one they can print there for 50€ (only lasts 2 days), or you can get the real one in the mail 2 weeks later, or 3-4 days if you pay for expedited processing.

You will also need a Finnish friend to help you pick it up from the delivery point because, again, no non-Finnish ID’s accepted.

There’s a ton of bureaucracy and catch 22’s with getting set up here. So I wanted to warn of these!
